Embodiments herein relate to medical devices including electric field shaping leads and methods for using the same to treat cancerous tumors within a bodily tissue. In an embodiment, an implantable lead for a cancer treatment system is disclosed. The lead can include a lead body having a proximal end and a distal end, where the lead body can define a lumen. The lead can also include a paddle disposed at the distal end of the lead body, the paddle having a width that is greater than a width of the lead body. The paddle can include one or more electrodes disposed on the paddle and one or more electrical conductors disposed within the lumen of the lead body to provide electrical communication between the one or more electrodes and the proximal end of the lead body. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Electric field shaping leads for treatment of cancer

Catheter and implantable leadless pacing devices, systems, and methods utilizing catheters and implantable leadless pacing devices are disclosed. An example catheter system may include a holding structure extending distally from a tubular member. An implantable device, such a leadless pacing device, may be located within a cavity of the holding structure and an electrical barrier may be located within the holding structure at a location between a proximal electrode and a distal electrode of the implantable device. The electrical barrier may inhibit electrical signals of the implantable device from traveling within the holding structure between the proximal electrode and the distal electrode of the implantable device. The holding structure may include one or more electrical ports adjacent the proximal end of the holding structure and adjacent or proximal of the proximal electrode of the implantable device.

Catheter and leadless cardiac devices including electrical pathway barrier

Embodiments herein relate to a medical device for treating a cancerous tumor, the medical device having a first lead including a first wire and second wire; a second lead can include a third wire and fourth wire; and a first electrode in electrical communication with the first wire, a second electrode in electrical communication with the second wire, a third electrode in electrical communication with the third wire, and a fourth electrode in electrical communication with the fourth wire. The first and third electrodes form a supply electrode pair configured to deliver one or more electric fields to the cancerous tumor. The second and fourth electrodes form a sensing electrode pair configured to measure an impedance of the cancerous tumor independent of an impedance of the first electrode, the first wire, the third electrode, the third wire, and components in electrical communication therewith. Electrical stimulation devices for cancer treatment

Embodiments herein relate to medical devices and methods for using the same to treat cancerous tumors within a bodily tissue. A medical device system is included having at least one electric field generating circuit configured to generate one or more electric fields; control circuitry in communication with the electric field generating circuit, the control circuitry configured to control delivery of the one or more electric fields from the at least one electric field generating circuit; and two or more electrodes to deliver the electric fields to the site of a cancerous tumor within a patient. At least one electrode can be configured to be implanted. At least one electrode can be configured to be external. The control circuitry can cause the electric field generating circuit to generate one or more electric fields at frequencies selected from a range of between 10 kHz to 1 MHz.

Electrical stimulation for cancer treatment with internal and external electrodes

Delivery devices, systems, and methods for delivering implantable leadless pacing devices are disclosed. An example delivery device may include a proximal section including a deflection mechanism for deflecting the proximal section, and a distal holding section extending distally of a distal end of the proximal section and defining a cavity therein for receiving an implantable leadless pacing device. The distal holding section may be structured to have portions that flex and bend while allowing the implantable device to be recaptured within the distal holding section.

Delivery devices and methods for leadless cardiac devices

Embodiments herein relate to a method for treating a cancerous tumor located within a subject. The method can include applying one or more electric fields at or near a site of the cancerous tumor, where the cancerous tumor can include a cancerous cell population. The one or more applied electric fields are effective to delay mitosis and cause mitotic synchronization within a proportion of the cancerous cell population. The method can include removing the one or more electric fields to allow mitosis to proceed within the cancerous cell population. The method can include administering a chemotherapeutic agent to the subject after the one or more electric fields have been removed. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Combination electrical and chemotherapeutic treatment of cancer

Embodiments herein relate to medical devices and methods for using the same to treat cancerous tumors within a bodily tissue. A medical device system is included having an electric field generating circuit and control circuitry configured to control delivery of the one or more electric fields from the electric field generating circuit to the site of the cancerous tissue. An implantable lead is included having a lead body including a first electrical conductor disposed within the lead body, and a first electrode coupled to the lead body, the first electrode in electrical communication with the first electrical conductor, wherein the first electrical conductor forms part of an electrical circuit by which the electric fields from the electric field generating circuit are delivered to the site of the cancerous tissue, and the first electrode can include a conductive coil filar disposed around the lead body. Delivery devices, systems, and methods for delivering implantable leadless pacing devices are disclosed. An example delivery device may an outer tubular member and an inner tubular member slidably disposed within the lumen of the outer tubular member. A distal holding section may extend distally of a distal end of the inner tubular member and define a cavity therein for receiving an implantable leadless pacing device. The device may further include a hub portion including at least a first hub portion affixed adjacent to the proximal end of the outer tubular member and a second hub portion affixed adjacent to the proximal end of the inner tubular member. A first locking mechanism configured to releasably couple the outer tubular member and the inner tubular member may be disposed within the hub portion.

An implantable leadless cardiac pacing device and associated delivery and retrieval devices. The implantable device includes a docking member extending from the proximal end of the housing of the implantable device configured to engage with the delivery and/or retrieval device to facilitate delivery and/or retrieval of the implantable leadless cardiac pacing device.

Systems for administering electrical stimulation to treat cancer

Delivery devices, systems, and methods for delivering implantable leadless pacing devices are disclosed. An example delivery device may include an intermediate tubular member and an inner tubular member slidably disposed within a lumen of the intermediate tubular member. A distal holding section may extend distally of a distal end of the intermediate tubular member and define a cavity therein for receiving an implantable leadless pacing device. The device may further include a handle assembly including at least an intermediate hub portion affixed adjacent to the proximal end of the intermediate tubular member and a proximal hub portion affixed adjacent to the proximal end of the inner tubular member. A longitudinally extending groove having a proximal end and a distal end may be disposed in the intermediate hub portion. A first locking mechanism may be configured to releasably couple the intermediate hub portion and the proximal hub portion.
