The improved multifilament structure is a low denier, heat treated multifilament structure that provides for advantageous mechanical properties, including fray resistance, low shrinkage, high tensile strength and low elongation.

Durable biofouling protection

A substantially fluid impermeable textile graft may be produced by selective application of a substantially water-soluble material or masking agent, and optionally selective removal of excess substantially water-soluble material, followed by the application of a substantially water-insoluble sealant. The inner surface of the graft includes a coating of the substantially water-soluble material thereon. The outer surface includes a coating of the substantially water-insoluble sealant disposed thereon. The tubular wall having the coating of the substantially water-insoluble sealant is, after curing thereof, substantially impermeable to liquid. The substantially water-soluble material is removed from the graft after the application of the substantially water-insoluble sealant.

Textile products having selectively applied sealant or coating and method of manufacture

A compressible resilient fabric can include a ground layer of knitted yarn, and a loop layer comprising a plurality of loops of yarn, each loop having a point knit into the ground layer. The fabric can be compressible from an non-compressed configuration, in which each loop has an apex extending substantially perpendicularly outward from the ground layer, into a compressed configuration, in which each loop is collapsed onto the ground layer. The fabric can further be resilient so as to substantially resume the non-compressed configuration when compression is relieved. The loop layer yarn can include a multifilament yarn having a high denier per filament ratio. The ground layer yarn can include a yarn shrinkable substantially more than the loop layer yarn. The loops can be densely knit so as to support the extension of the loops outward from the ground layer.

Compressible resilient fabric, devices, and methods

A double face, weft-knit textile garment. The garment includes: a first face having a printed portion; and a second face having a printed portion, wherein the fabric density of the fabric forming the garment is greater than about 5 oz. per square yard, thereby substantially preventing grin through from at least one printed portion to the opposite face. In one embodiment of the invention, a plurality of openings are formed in both faces for breathability. In addition, the garment may further include at least one body anchor for facilitating attachment of the garment to the wearer.

Double faced weft-knit textile article

A double face, weft-knit textile article is shown and described. The article comprises a first fabric face and a second fabric face integrally constructed with a heat-set elastic yarn. The fabric has a fabric weight of less than about 5 oz. per square yard and is constructed to substantially reduce grin-through or transparency. In addition, the article may be a garment and may further include at least one body anchor for facilitating attachment of the garment to the wearer.

A breathable, stretchable, and heat-moldable multi-layer weft knit spacer fabric having a substantially decorative first layer and a spaced less decorative second layer. Also, a method of integrally knitting the multi-layer knitted fabric on a circular weft knit machine is also described. Articles of the manufacture comprising the fabric are also described.

Decorative faced multi-layer weft knit spacer fabric, method, and articles made therefrom

A color-fast material and method of making same, the material having a combination of a first component with substantial stretch properties and a second component with substantially lower stretch properties than those of the first component wherein the material is a fabric manufactured by knitting, weaving, non-woven or other fabric manufacturing process and the material is dyed prior to fabric formation for providing a material having superior color-fastness and color-uniformity in both stretched and relaxed states.

A side entry storage net useful for securing items in a storage area comprises an upper and lower front panel, a back panel, and two sides formed from a piece of netting folded at upper and lower folds. Edges of the folds are spaced apart to form an opening to allow items to be placed inside the net from the side. The storage net further includes a plurality of elastic cords that allow the storage net to be opened and to hold stored items in place without shifting. The storage net also includes means for attaching the net to a desired external surface, such as a storage area in a motor vehicle.

A warp knit net fabric is disclosed in which the number of stitches in each leg and in each join of a diamond pattern is varied to vary the size of the openings defined by the legs. An array of yarn ends are knit on a Raschel warp knitting machine and the formation of stitches of the legs is driven from one pattern chain drum and the formation of stitches of the joins is driven from another pattern chain drum. Switching from drum to drum is accomplished by a programmable controller.
