An audio-enhanced furniture system comprises: a furniture assembly having a partially acoustically transparent material, such as an upholstery fabric or a perforated, rigid structure that is perforated in order to be more acoustically transparent; and a speaker system positioned within the furniture assembly, the speaker system including a speaker covered by the partially acoustically transparent material. The speaker is configured to be tuned to compensate for sound being emitted from the speaker through the perforated partially acoustically transparent material.

An electronic furniture assembly of the present invention includes: (i) a furniture assembly comprising: (A) a base (e.g., a seat portion), (B) at least one transverse or upright member (e.g., a side, armrest or backrest), and (ii) a speaker system mounted within one or more portions of the furniture assembly. An electronic furniture assembly of the present invention comprises: (i) a furniture assembly comprising: (A) a base (e.g., a seat portion), (B) at least one transverse member (e.g., a side, armrest or backrest), and (C) a coupler for selectively coupling the base to the transverse member; (ii) an electrical hub for providing electrical power to the speakers, the hub configured to selectively reside within the furniture assembly; and (iii) a speaker system mounted within one or more portions of the furniture assembly. Electronic furniture assembly with integrated internal speaker system

Disclosed are furniture systems including at least one reclining assembly. The reclining assembly can be configured to seamlessly integrate and couple to a modular furniture assembly, having a footprint that substantially fits within the geometric specifications of the footprint of the modular furniture assembly. The reclining assembly can have a general appearance that is substantially similar to the modular furniture assembly when the reclining assembly is in the un-reclined position. The reclining assembly can include a reclining mechanism that permits transitioning the reclining assembly between a shallow and deep seat configuration. The reclining assembly can include a rotatable footrest panel. The reclining mechanism can include rotating gears that ride on gear rails, to effect the reclining movement and/or extension of the footrest panel.

Modular furniture and reclining assemblies

Furniture spring systems are configured to provide support for different sized modular seating systems and/or modular bed systems. Slats extend between opposing frame or rail members to provide support to the seating or bed system. The slats have a catch disposed at a first or second end. In the seating and/or bed frame systems, the catch engages a retention member to retain the slat to the frame or rail. Adjustable bed frame systems employing such slats comprise modular bed frames and adjustable head boards and foot boards. Bed frames employing the slats and headboards/footboards thereof adjust in length or width in a variety of different manners. Adjustable bed frames adjust through the use of telescoping members, filler blocks and/or elongate end blocks that have different sizes from the standard uniform elongate support blocks employed in a bed frame.

Modular furniture support systems

A modular furniture assembly is disclosed herein. The assembly includes a base, an upright member, and one or more connector plates configured to selectively couple a bottom portion of the base to a bottom portion of the upright member. The base and the upright member are sized and configured in a particular defined spatial relationship where the length (X) of the base is substantially equal to the sum of the width (Y) of the base and two times a dimension (Z) which is the width (Z) of the upright member or a separation distance (Z) between adjacent receiving holes of the base and upright member. Thus, X is substantially equal to Y+2Z.

A furniture system includes a base and transverse member, with an induction charger provided in the transverse member and/or base, hidden from view and feel. The induction charger can be at least partially secured to either the base frame or the transverse member frame. The induction charger provides induction charging to a device positioned adjacent to a charging surface of the base or transverse member. The charging surface is positioned adjacent to the induction charger. Additionally, the induction charger is positioned between a first and second cushioning material. An audio-enhanced furniture system comprises: a furniture assembly; an upholstery fabric at least partially covering the furniture assembly; and a speaker system positioned within the furniture assembly, the speaker system including a speaker covered by the upholstery fabric. The speaker is configured to be tuned to compensate for sound being emitted from the speaker through the upholstery fabric. A method of tuning a speaker to compensate for sound being emitted through upholstery fabric comprises: selecting a baseline equalization, configuring the speaker to emit sound at an actual equalization approximate to the baseline equalization; covering the speaker with an upholstery fabric; measuring a resultant equalization as the speaker emits sound through the upholstery fabric; calculating a differential equalization; and reconfiguring the audio system to emit sound from the speaker through the upholstery fabric according to the baseline equalization by adjusting the actual equalization by the differential equalization.

A furniture spring system includes a lid configured to provide a seating surface. The lid includes a frame having two opposing frame members and a retention member associated with at least one of the two opposing frame members. The furniture spring system further includes a slat extending between the two opposing frame members. The slat includes a plurality of slat portions adjustably coupled to each other, such that a total length of the slat is adjustable.
