A method for controlling operation of a fluid transport system by applying a self-learning control process. The method includes: receiving obtained values of input signals during operation of the system during a first period of time, which is controlled by a predetermined control process, automatically selecting a subset of the input signals based on the received obtained values of the input signals, receiving obtained values of at least the selected subset of input signals during a second period of time, which is controlled by applying the self-learning control process, which is configured to control operation based only on the selected subset of input signals, and wherein applying the self-learning control process includes updating the self-learning control process based on the received obtained values of the selected subset of the input signals and based on at least an approximation of a performance indicator function.

Method and system for controlling a fluid transport system

A system () regulates a temperature of fluid in a sector of a fluid distribution network, including a feed line () transporting fluid from a thermal energy source () to a thermal energy consumer () within the sector and a return line () transporting fluid back. A bypass line () connects the return line to the feed line, mixing fluid from the return line into the feed line. A pump is at the bypass line. A temperature sensor determines a temperature of fluid in the feed line downstream of the bypass line. A pressure sensor determines an uncontrolled pressure difference between the feed line and the return line, or an uncontrolled pressure difference correlated therewith. A control unit controls the speed of the pump with a closed-loop control for achieving a target feed line temperature based on the determined temperature, and a feed-forward control compensating fluctuations of the pressure difference.

System for regulating a temperature of a thermal energy carrying fluid in a sector of a fluid distribution network

A control system controls a fluid distribution system that includes consumer branches arranged in parallel. Each consumer branch includes a consumer element () consuming fluid and/or thermal energy, a regulating device () receiving a control value regulating a flow of fluid and/or thermal energy through the consumer branch, and a sensor () providing a measured value of the consumer branch. The control system includes a saturation calculation module () providing a saturation value, for each operational consumer branch, indicative of the saturation degree of the associated consumer branch, and a saturation compensation module () receiving the saturation values and altering a reference value. The altered reference value is based on an initial reference value and the saturation values from all consumer branches. The consumer branch regulating device, of each operational consumer branch, is controllable based on the altered reference value and the measured value of the associated consumer branch.

Control system and method for controlling a fluid distribution system

A control method for a pump assembly () in a pneumatic or hydraulic system controls a speed (n) of the pump assembly () in dependence on at least one variable (Dp, p, T, x) which is detected in the system. An error signal (e) is produced from the detected variable (Dp, p, T, x) on the basis of a sectionwise monotonic function. Method for limiting a supply flow in a heat transfer system

A valve assembly () forming a bridge circuit and a hydraulic actuator comprising at least one valve assembly () are disclosed. The valve assembly () is fluidly connectable between a fluid source () and a fluid drain (). The valve assembly () comprises a first valve () fluidly connected between the fluid source () and a first diagonal point () of the bridge circuit, a second valve () fluidly connected between the fluid source () and a second diagonal point () of the bridge circuit, a third valve () fluidly connected between the first diagonal point () and the fluid drain (), and a fourth valve () fluidly connected between the second diagonal point () and the fluid drain (). The valves () are such that in the case of a power cut off, flows of fluid away from the diagonal points () are prevented. Thereby a hydraulic servomotor () connected across the diagonal points () will be hydraulically locked in its instantaneous position, and a safety feature is accordingly provided. The first valve () and the second valve () are furthermore of a kind which is closed in an energized state. Thereby it is possible to control the valve assembly () in such a manner that a piston member () of a servomotor () connected across the diagonal points () can be moved at a high velocity, thereby providing a servomotor () having a quick response time.

Valve assembly and a hydraulic actuator comprising the valve assembly

A hydraulic actuator for a hydraulic servomotoris disclosed. The hydraulic servomotorhas a first chamberand a second chamberassociated therewith. The hydraulic actuator is connected to a fluid sourceand a fluid drain, and it comprises a valve assembly arranged between the fluid sourceand the fluid drainto control fluid pressures in the chambers. At least one auxiliary valveis fluidly connected between the valve assembly and the fluid drain, said auxiliary valve(s)being of a kind which is normally closed in a de-energized state. In the case of a power cut off the auxiliary valve(s)will close, thereby preventing fluid flow from the valve assembly towards the fluid drain. This causes a servomotor piston memberto be hydraulically locked in its instantaneous position, thereby locking the hydraulic servomotor. The valve assembly may be designed without taking the locking function into consideration.

Hydraulic actuator having an auxiliary valve

A hydraulic actuator for a hydraulic servomotor () is disclosed. The hydraulic servomotor () is of a kind having at least one defined end position, and has a first chamber () and a second chamber () associated therewith. The actuator is connected to a fluid source () and a fluid drain (). The actuator comprises a first valve () fluidly connected between the fluid source () and the first chamber (), a second valve () fluidly connected between the first chamber () and the fluid drain (), and a third valve () fluidly connected between the fluid source () and the second chamber (). The actuator further comprises a flow channel (), preferably comprising a flow restrictor (), in fluid communication with the second chamber (). The valves () are such that, in the case of a power cut off, they will prevent a fluid flow out of the first chamber (), and a fluid flow out of the second chamber () takes place via the flow channel (). This will cause a servomotor piston member () to move towards the second chamber (), thereby moving the hydraulic servomotor () to an end position.

The invention concerns a hydraulic valve arrangement () with a working connection arrangement having a first working connection (A) and a second working connection (B), both working connections (A, B) being connectable with a hydraulic consumer (), a supply connection arrangement having a pressure connection (P) and a tank connection (T), a first valve arrangement with a first valve (), closing the pressure connection (P) or connecting it in a controlled manner with the first working connection (A) or the second working connection (B), a second valve arrangement with a second valve (), closing the tank connection (T) or connecting it in a controlled manner with the first working connection (A) or the second working connection (B), and a control arrangement controlling the first valve arrangement and the second valve arrangement. In such a valve arrangement, it is endeavoured to achieve improved operation behaviour. For this purpose, at least with one of the two valves () a working position can be set, in which the first and the second working connections (A, B) are connected with each other.

Hydraulic valve arrangement

The invention concerns a valve arrangement for controlling a hydraulic drive, the supply to and the outflow from the hydraulic drive being separately controllable. It is endeavoured to realise separate controls of the speed and the hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic drive. For this purpose, a pump pipe is connected with a first control valve, the first control valve is connected through a pipe with a first working connection and a second working connection of the hydraulic drive, and the first working connection is connected with a second control valve and the second working connection is connected with a third control valve, the second control valve and the third control valve opening into a tank (T).

Valve arrangement and hydraulic drive

The invention concerns a valve arrangement for controlling a hydraulic drive, the supply and the outflow of the hydraulic drive being separately controllable. It is endeavoured to improve the valve arrangement in such a manner that it is intrinsically tight, at the same time having a relatively simple design. For this purpose, a pump pipe and a tank pipe are connected with a first control valve, the first control valve being connected by separate pipes with a second control valve and a third control valve connected in parallel with the second control valve, the second control valve being connected with a first working connection of the hydraulic drive and the third control valve being connected with a second working connection of the hydraulic drive, backflow preventers for preventing the flow from the hydraulic drive in the direction of the tank being connected in parallel with the second control valve and/or the third control valve.

The invention concerns a valve arrangement for controlling a hydraulic drive having a first working connection (A) and a second working connection (B), and being connectable with or separable from a pressure source (P), the supply and the outflow of the hydraulic drive being separately controllable. It is endeavoured to improve the energetic efficiency of the valve arrangement. For this purpose, the first working connection (A) is connected with a first control valve and the second working connection (B) is connected with a second control valve, the first and the second control valves being connected with each other and with a third control valve, which is connected with a tank.

A hydraulic valve arrangement with a first and a second working connection, both working connections being connectable with a hydraulic consumer, a supply connection having a pressure connection and a tank connection, a first valve, which closes the pressure connection or connects it in a controlled manner with the first working connection or the second working connection, a second valve, which closes the tank connection or connects it in a controlled manner with the first or the second working connection, and a control device, which controls the first valve and the second valve. It is endeavored to enable a simple manner of exact controlling the consumer. For this purpose, at least one valve is provided with an opening degree sensor, which is connected with the control device, the control device controlling the valve arrangement in dependence of the signal from the opening degree sensor and a specified signal.
