A method for desalinating a liquid, including: contacting, within a hydrate former reactor, a feed gas stream including iso-butane in an amount ranging from above zero mol % to about 3 mol % and liquid seawater or liquid wastewater including a dissolved salt, wherein a temperature and pressure within the hydrate former reactor is controlled so that the feed gas stream and the liquid seawater or liquid wastewater form a hydrate slurry; separating hydrate particles from the hydrate slurry; and decomposing the hydrate particles into its constituents of water and gas or gas mixture containing iso-butane, wherein the water has a concentration of the dissolved salt that is less than that of the liquid seawater or liquid wastewater.

Bulbs for emitting light are adapted to fit inside the tubular frame members and are conductively coupled to a power source. The power source is sized such that the power source fits inside a vertically situated tubular frame member. A planar platform, having a length in one direction that is less than the inside cross sectional diameter of the vertically aligned tubular frame member, is sized so that the platform fits inside the vertical tubular frame member. The platform supports the power source and is positioned such that the power source can be installed and removed by a user.

A chemical vapor deposition process for preparing a low dielectric constant organosilicate (OSG) having enhanced mechanical properties by adjusting the amount of organic groups, such as methyl groups, within the mixture is disclosed herein. In one embodiment of the present invention, the OSG film is deposited from a mixture comprising a first silicon-containing precursor that comprises from 3 to 4 Si&#x2014;O bonds per Si atom, from 0 to 1 of bonds selected from the group consisting of Si&#x2014;H, Si&#x2014;Br, and Si&#x2014;Cl bonds per Si atom and no Si&#x2014;C bonds and a second silicon-containing precursor that comprises at least one Si&#x2014;C bond per Si atom. In another embodiment of the present invention, the OSG film is deposited from a mixture comprising an asymmetric silicon-containing precursor. In either embodiment, the mixture may further contain a porogen precursor to provide a porous OSG film.

Low dielectric materials are also disclosed having a dielectric constant of less than about 1.95 and a normalized wall elastic modulus (E&#x2032;), derived in part from the dielectric constant of the material, of greater than about 26 GPa.
