The invention relates to a steam generator tool configured to receive a supply of fuel, oxidant, water and power/control, and therefrom, to combust the fuel and generate steam from the water. The tool can be used downhole or on surface. The tool includes a tool coupling component configured to receive inputs of water, fuel, oxidant and power/control; a flow diversion component coupled to the coupling component and which directs the inputs into the tool; and an ignition component configured to ignite the fuel to produce a flame. Tool further includes a combustion chamber configured to accommodate the flame; and a plurality of water nozzle on the external surface of the tool configured to eject water onto the outer surface of the combustion chamber, the water being converted to steam during operation of the tool. The tool coupling component forms a first, which may be considered the upper end of the steam generator tool and the combustion chamber is at the second, opposite end of the tool.

Apparatus, method and wellbore installation to mitigate heat damage to well components during high temperature fluid injection operations such as steam injection from surface through a wellbore. The apparatus includes an injection tubing that conveys the high temperature fluid to an injection zone and an isolation packer through which a lower end of the injection tubing passes. A pipe extends alongside the injection tubing with an outlet end close above the packer. When the apparatus is installed in a wellbore, the pipe creates a cooling fluid circuit that flows from just above the packer up in the wellbore alongside the outer surface of the injection tubing to surface and then back into the pipe.

A system and method of producing oil is provided. The system includes a support module that provides air, water and fuel to a well. A steam generator is fluidly coupled to the support module to receive the air, water and fuel. The steam generator includes an injector having a plurality of tubes. The tubes have an outer surface with an oxidation catalyst thereon. The steam generator is configured to divide the supplied air and direct a first portion through the tubes. A second portion of the supplied air is mixed with supplied fuel and directed over the outside of the tubes. The air and fuel is burned in a combustor and water is sprayed on the combustion gases to produce steam. The steam and combustion gases are directed in the direction of the oil reservoir.

System and method of producing oil

A system and method of producing steam is provided. The system includes a support module and a steam module. The support module is configured to supply air, water and fuel. The steam module includes a casing defining a hollow interior that is fluidly coupled to receive water from the support module. An interface module is provided having a first conduit made from flexible tubing that is fluidly coupled to receive fuel from the support module. The interface module further having a second conduit being made from flexible tubing that is fluidly coupled to receive air from the support module. A combustor is coupled to and spaced apart from the interface portion, the combustor being fluidly coupled to receive fuel from the first conduit and air from the second conduit. A steam generator is coupled to an end of the combustor.
