An optical high-power amplifier ('OPHA') circuit, e.g., for a spaceborne satellite-based communication network, includes fiberoptic gain and polarization maintenance (“PM”) stages, a polarization splitter, first and second photodetectors, and an electronic control unit (“ECU”). The gain stage outputs an amplified optical signal in response to a low-power (“LP”) optical input signal. The PM stage outputs separate high and low power output signals in response to the amplified signal. A majority of power of the input signal is allocated to the HP output signal. The polarization splitter transmits the LP output signal along the slow and/or fast polarization axis. The photodetectors are arranged on the slow and fast axes. The ECU outputs a polarizer control signal to a polarization rotator device in response to electrical signals from one or both photodetectors to command the rotator device to output the LP optical input signal with a targeted polarized output state.

A method for generation of a vehicle path for a vehicle. The method includes, using an excursion planning processor to perform generating a grid of attitude constraint masks, wherein each attitude constraint mask corresponds to a respective possible attitude of the vehicle. The method also includes defining a distance function between two points on a vehicle path, such that the vehicle path defines a change in orientation of the vehicle, determining a vehicle path component, of the vehicle path, between the two points having a selected cost, selecting a vehicle path in the grid of attitude constraint masks from the vehicle path component, and generating an excursion plan so that the vehicle travels along the vehicle path.

Methods and apparatus for determining a vehicle path

Systems, methods, and apparatus for location determination of an emitter using frequency-of-arrival (FOA) measured from a single moving platform are disclosed. In one or more embodiments, a disclosed system allows for location determination of stationary, pulsed radio frequency (RF) emitters from a moving platform by using coherent frequency of arrival (CFOA) Doppler history measurements. The term 'coherent' is used to indicate that the process requires a RF-coherent pulse train, such as that generated by modern radar. In one or more embodiments, the disclosed system employs one of two disclosed CFOA measurement methods (Method 1: CFOA linear regression of phase (LRP), and Method 2: CFOA cross-correlated frequency spectra (CCFS)). The disclosed system also enables geo-discrimination (GeoD) of emitters at known locations, or alternatively geo-location of emitters at unknown locations.

Location determination of an emitter using frequency-of-arrival (FOA) measured from a single moving platform

A differential encoding and decoding system and method for multiplexed data is disclosed. The multiplexed data is formed from a plurality of input data sources. The differential encoding and decoding uses a delay proportional to the number of input data streams in the plurality. In this fashion, errors that propagate from an error in one of the input data sources does not interfere with other input data sources upon de-multiplexing.
