An X-ray imaging system includes a digital X-ray detector configured to acquire X-ray image data without communication from a source controller and to send the X-ray image data to a portable detector control device for processing and image preview. The source controller is configured to command X-ray emissions of X-rays from an X-ray radiation source for image exposures.

A computer readable storage medium having a computer program stored thereon and representing a set of instructions that when executed by a computer causes the computer to calculate a mapping function that provides a location of each sub-volume of an imaging volume as a function of time from ultrasound data and determine a respective acquisition window for each sub-volume of the imaging volume from the mapping function. The instructions also cause the computer to reconstruct an image of the imaging volume substantially free of motion artifacts from imaging data acquired from the imaging volume.

An X-ray imaging method includes performing an X-ray exposure via an X-ray radiation source responsive to a source controller. The method also includes sampling X-ray image data via a digital detector without communication of timing signals from the source controller. The method further includes combining the sampled X-ray image data of at least one imaging frame or two or more imaging frames with at least one of the frames spanning a duration in which the exposure occurred, to produce X-ray image data capable of being reconstructed into a user-viewable image.

X-ray system and method for producing X-ray image data

Motion data is acquired simultaneously and in real-time with image data. The motion data provides accurate and near-instant information as to the state and position of an object prone to motion. The present invention is particularly applicable for cardiac CT or MR imaging and other physiologically gated acquisitions. In the context of cardiac imaging, the motion data includes information regarding size and location of the heart during the cardiac phases (diastole, systole, etc.) during each cardiac cycle.
