A curable composition includes a functionalized phenylene ether oligomer, a reactive diluent, and a photoinitiator. The curable composition can be cured to provide a cured composition. Articles comprising the cured composition and methods for the manufacture of the cured composition are also described. The curable composition can be particularly useful for providing three-dimensional, additively-manufactured articles.

An ultraviolet light-curable coating composition includes 5-40 weight percent of an ultraviolet light-curable poly(polyphenylene ether) oligomer; 60-95 weight percent of an ultraviolet light-curable monomer, oligomer, polymer, or a combination thereof; and 0.01-3 weight percent of a photoinitiator.

A process for making a carbon nanotube structure includes forming a composite by depositing or growing carbon nanotubes onto a metal substrate, and infusing the carbon nanotubes. In other aspects, a method of making a wire, includes coating carbon nanotubes on a wire, and electroplating the carbon nanotubes. In still other aspects, a method of making a conductor includes growing or depositing vertically aligned carbon nanotubes on a sheet. Yet still, a method of making a cable includes forming multiple composite wires, each composite wire formed by depositing or growing carbon nanotubes onto a metal substrate, and performing a metal infusion of the carbon nanotubes. The method also comprises combining multiple finished composite wires or objects to make large cables or straps.

Improvements in compressor manufacture are achieved by utilizing polymeric components which retain at least 90% of their dimensions after being exposed to a mixture of refrigerants and/or lubricants for 30 days at 60&#xb0; C. Polymeric materials include (i) polyetherimides, (ii) polyphenylene sulfides, (iii) polyketones, (iv) polysulfones, (v) liquid crystal polymers, and (vi) combinations thereof. Metal coatings on the polymers are the preferred embodiments for housings.
