A cable repair system having a splicing member. The splicing member includes at least two conductor pairs and an insulation member disposed intermediate to the at least two conductor pairs. The insulation member is configured to shield the conductor pairs from electrical interference from adjacent conductor pairs. The conductor pairs and insulation member are configured to permit splicing of two more cable segments. A method for splicing a data cable and a repaired cable are also disclosed.

High performance cable splice

A contact rail is provided including a module coupling end and a mating end. A diode mounting surface is positioned between the module coupling end and the mating end. A pivot member extends from a base of the module coupling end. The pivot member is configured to be engaged by an elongated tool. A module coupling fastener engages the base of the module coupling end. The elongated tool is configured to engage the module coupling fastener. The elongated tool is configured to pivot about the pivot member to separate the module coupling fastener from the base of the module coupling end so that a contact from a power module is receivable between the base of the module coupling end and the module coupling fastener.

Contact rail for a junction box

A pluggable connector that includes a connector housing having mating and loading ends and a longitudinal axis extending therebetween. The connector housing includes an insert cavity that opens to the mating end. The pluggable connector also includes a plug insert that is disposed within the insert cavity. The plug insert has an air core that extends in a direction along the longitudinal axis. The pluggable connector also including first and second differential pairs that extend along the longitudinal axis through the plug insert. Each of the first and second differential pairs includes two mating contacts that extend parallel to each other. The air core is located directly between the first and second differential pairs to control the electromagnetic coupling between the first and second differential pairs.

A connector assembly including a first connector configured to be movably mounted to a support structure and having a first mating terminal. The first connector is movable with respect to the support structure in an axial direction along an alignment axis. The connector assembly also includes a second connector that is configured to be movably mounted to a support panel and has a second mating terminal. The second connector is movable with respect to the support panel in a radial direction relative to an alignment axis. The second connector shifts in the radial, direction to align the first and second mating terminals when the first and second connectors engage each other in a misaligned manner. The first connector moves between a projected position and a retracted position along the alignment axis to facilitate establishing a communication pathway between the first and second mating terminals.

Connector assembly having two connectors capable of movement in differing directions

A connector assembly includes a housing, a light source located within the housing, and a cover element covering at least a portion of a mating face of the housing. The housing includes a connector that is arranged to electrically mate with a peripheral connector proximate to the mating face of the housing. The light source generates light directed toward the mating face of the housing to indicate a status of the connector. The cover element includes a light transmissive area that is positioned to receive the light generated by the light source and transmit the light outward from the mating face in order to indicate the status of the connector.

A connector assembly configured to engage a mating connector. The connector assembly includes a plug body that has loading and mating ends and a central axis extending therebetween. The mating end is configured to be inserted into a cavity of the mating connector to establish at least one of communicative and power connections. The plug body has an outer surface that surrounds and faces away from the central axis. The connector assembly also includes a ring that is slidably mounted over the plug body. The ring is configured to slide along the outer surface of the plug body in an axial direction between withdrawn and locked positions. The connector assembly also includes a sleeve member that is slidably mounted over the plug body and the ring. The sleeve member includes a plurality of fingers that extend toward the mating end and are biased toward the outer surface of the plug body. The ring is configured to engage the fingers and the fingers are configured to flex away and engage the mating connector.

Push-pull connector

A pluggable connector that includes a housing having an inner surface that defines a housing cavity. The housing cavity extends along a central axis to an opening of the housing cavity. The opening is sized and shaped to mate with a mating connector moving along the central axis. The connector also includes a plug insert that is positioned within the housing cavity. The plug insert extends along the central axis and forms contact cavities therein that extend parallel to the central axis. The plug insert has an outer surface that is separated from the inner surface of the housing by a spacing. The connector also includes differential pairs. Each differential pair has two mating contacts that extend parallel to each other along a contact plane of the differential pair and within corresponding contact cavities. The contact planes of at least two adjacent differential pairs are perpendicular to one another.

Pluggable connector with differential pairs

An electrical connector configured to engage a header is provided. The connector includes a plug that is configured to be inserted into a header cavity and a sleeve member that surrounds an outer plug surface. The sleeve member includes a plurality of fingers biased to flex away from the plug surface in a flared arrangement. The connector also includes a sealing band that grips the plug surface. Also, the connector includes a collar that is configured to slide in the axial direction. When the collar moves from the retracted position to the locked position, the collar deflects the fingers against the wall surface of the header causing the fingers to cover the sealing band and the sealing band is compressed between the plug body and the header.
