A mounting bracket configured to receive a device to mount the device can include a first portion extending in an axial direction and configured to mount to a first side of the device, a second portion extending in the axial direction and configured to mount to a second side of the device, and a crossbar structure connecting the first portion to the second portion. The crossbar structure can extend between the first portion and the second portion in a transverse direction to the axial direction. The crossbar structure can be configured to flex to allow the first portion and the second portion to move laterally apart to allow insertion of the device between the first portion and the second portion and snap fit of the device between the first portion and the second portion.

Device mounting brackets

A frame for an opto-mechanical support structure includes an interconnected lattice of frame composite rods defined about an interior space with interstices defined between the frame composite rods. A method of making an opto-mechanical frame includes forming a frame of interconnected lattice of frame composite rods using one or more Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) around a mandrel. The method includes removing the mandrel from an interior space of the frame after forming the frame.

Composite frames for opto-mechanical support structures

A joint for a composite frame includes a first composite rod, a first shell abutting the first composite rod, a second shell abutting the first composite rod and disposed opposite the first shell relative to the first composite rod. The first and second shells are joined together such that composite rod is fixed therebetween. A method of forming joints of composite frame includes forming a composite frame by interconnecting a plurality of composite rods formed by an Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) manufacturing method around a mandrel, applying a first shell to the plurality of composite rods at a first location where composite rods are interconnected, applying a second shell at the first location opposite the first shell relative to the composite rods, and joining the first and second shells together with the composite rods at the first location disposed between the first and second shells.

Joints of composite frames for optics support structure

A sensor assembly includes a frame defining a sensor axis having opposing endplates with axially extending supports. The opposing endplates are connected by a pair of axially extending side beams. A suspended mass is within an interior of the frame suspended from the supports of the frame. A plurality of piezoelectric material layers are operatively connected to sides of respective spacers opposite the frame to damp vibrations of the suspended mass.
