A sprayer boom breakaway joint with a staged release and forced lift system is implemented with an agricultural sprayer. The system provides positive locking to restrain a breakaway joint against movement from a neutral position until an impact with a breakaway boom segment provides sufficient force to overcome the neutral holding force. Once released from the neutral position, the breakaway boom segment may at least initially experience a lesser holding force that biases the breakaway boom segment toward the neutral position and the breakaway boom segment may move along a path that has an upward movement component in addition to a rearward movement component.

A breakaway hinge assembly includes a first bracket coupled to a boom section, a second bracket coupled to a breakaway boom section, and a damper system. The damper system includes a first damper assembly coupled to a stop bracket of the first bracket and a second damper assembly coupled to an upper bracket arm of the first bracket. Each damper assembly includes a housing, at least one rubber element disposed within the housing, a plunger having a first end in contact with the at least one rubber element, and a stop coupled to a second end of the plunger. The first and second brackets are pivotably coupled to each other so that the breakaway boom section pivots between a first position and a second position. The damper system is configured to prevent over-pivoting and reduce impact load of the breakaway boom section when pivoting to the first and second positions.

A deflectable touchdown wheel system for a sprayer boom of an agricultural sprayer is provided that includes a touchdown wheel that deflects transversely when contacting the ground at an angle, damping ground contact impact forces at the sprayer boom, reducing reactionary forces such as external steering inputs at the sprayer vehicle.

The system includes a frame with side rails and a first cross member and a second cross member extending between the opposite side rails, with the cross members being substantially hollow. Each of the cross members form slider receivers. The system also includes axle slider assemblies that are telescopically inserted into the slider receivers. Additionally, actuators are mounted within the cross members. These actuators are secured to the frame and to the axle slider assemblies to allow for telescopic movement of the axle slider assemblies into and out of the cross members. The actuators run substantially through a central axis of the first cross member and a central axis of the second cross member. This minimizes the bending moment of each actuator. Additionally, this system isolates the actuators from materials outside of the cross members.

The first bearing holder includes a cavity oriented horizontally to form a first pivot axis. The second bearing holder includes a cavity oriented vertically to form a second pivot axis. A chassis frame includes a side rails and cross-members that intersect at a number of intersection points, which collectively define a chassis frame with front and rear portions that define a main support section and an integral engine support section. Each side rail includes a top plate, a bottom plate, and first and second side plates extending between the top and bottom plates. The first and second side plates each have a first end coupled to a bottom surface of the top plate and a second end coupled to the top surface of the bottom plate. Each cross-member includes a top plate, a bottom plate, and first and second side plates extending between the top plate and bottom plates. The first and second side plates each have a first end coupled to a bottom surface of the top plate and a second end coupled to the top surface of the bottom plate. A plurality of gusset portions is formed between the top plates of the side rails and cross-members at each intersection point.

A locking stand for use with a boom associated with an agricultural machine. The locking stand includes a stand base and a locking arm that is movably attached to the stand base. The stand base may include a stand body with a stand base lower section and a stand base upper section. The lower section is configured to engage a support surface and the upper section supports the sprayer boom arm. The locking arm is movable between an open position for locking the sprayer boom in the locking boom stand. A hook arrangement associated with both the locking arm and the stand base upper section may be used to lock the boom stand relative to the boom. More specifically, the hook arrangement may include a stand base hook associated with the stand base upper section and a locking arm hook associated with the locking arm.

The perforated outer walls may connect boom frame tube stringers to each other by way of stringer connecting plates with cutouts. The perforated outer walls may be defined by webs of material extending between the tube stringers and multiple openings defined between the webs of material.
