A method and system for the ordered modification of a recurring event in a calendaring application. A method for applying ordered modifications to recurring event instances, can include identifying an event exception which corresponds to a separately defined recurring event instance. Subsequently, at least one property of the recurring event instance can be modified based upon the event exception. Additional event exceptions corresponding to the recurring event instance can be further identified in accordance with a preferred aspect of the present invention. For each further identified additional event exception, at least one property of the recurring event instance can be further modified based upon the further identified additional event exception. Notably, each of the identifying and modifying steps can be repeated for additional recurring event instances.

Applying ordered modifications to recurring event instances

A method and system for the ordered modification of a recurring event in a calendaring application. A method for applying ordered modifications to recurring event instances, can include identifying an event exception which corresponds to a separately defined recurring event instance. Subsequently, at least one property of the recurring instance can be modified based upon the event exception. Additional event exceptions corresponding to the recurring event instance can be further identified in accordance with a preferred aspect of the present invention. Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to application deployment and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for deploying installable software artifacts in canonical form. In one embodiment of the invention, a method for deploying installable software artifacts in canonical form can include storing artifacts in platform independent canonical form. Thereafter, the method can include receiving a request from a client for first time provisioning or update to a specified application for a specific platform, locating the stored artifacts according to the specified application, dynamically generating a feature from the stored artifacts for the specific platform, and first time provisioning or updating the specified application in the client with the dynamically generated feature.

Dynamically generating installable software artifacts in a canonical form

Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to database driven collaborative applications and provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for generating a separable query design object and database schema through visual view editing. In one embodiment, an application generation method can be provided. The method can include creating a form for a collaborative application, placing a data source user interface control within the form and binding at least one field of a database query result set to the data source user interface control. Finally, the method can include storing a database query for the result set separately from the form.

Embodiments of the present invention provide a novel and non-obvious method, system and computer program product for editing an event in a C&S system. In one embodiment, a method for editing an event in a C&S system can include specifying a recurrence range before permitting editing of the event. The method further can include disposing an in-line disambiguating message in a calendar dialog for the C&S system indicating whether an event instance or whether all instances of the event are to be edited in the calendar dialog. The method yet further can include limiting actions in a user interface in response to limiting a core engine for the C&S system. Specifically, limiting actions in a user interface in response to limiting a core engine for the C&S system can include permitting only an editing of a single instance for the event in response to an attendee exception.
