Methods, systems, and computer-storage media are provided for enabling a user to dynamically create associations and take actions with respect to a clinical finding associated with a patient. After selecting a clinical finding that is of interest in a first workflow application, a graphical user interface is automatically presented. The graphical user interface includes trending information for the clinical finding as well as information related to the clinical finding. The graphical user interface enables a clinician to associate the clinical finding with a current patient problem or a possible diagnosis related to the clinical finding. Additionally, the graphical user interface enables the clinician to take actions with respect to the clinical finding.

Dynamic association and documentation

A computerized system method for displaying a predicted length of stay and actual length of stay in an inpatient healthcare facility for a patient is provided. A predicted length of stay and an actual length of inpatient stay in a healthcare facility for a patient are accessed. The predicted length of stay and the actual length of inpatient stay for the patient are displayed concurrently.

A system and method for receiving medical or other database information and pregrouping and extending that data include a data enhancement layer configured to generate additional stored dimensions capturing the data and relevant attributes. Data sources such as hospitals, laboratories and others may therefore communicate their clinical data to a central warehousing facility which may assemble and extend the resulting aggregated data for data mining purposes. Varying source format and content may be conditioned and conformed to a consistent physical or logical structure. The source data may be extended and recombined into additional related dimensions, pre-associating meaningful attributes for faster querying and storage. The attributes, data and other pieces of information may likewise in embodiments be subjected to an inference analysis to determine whether previously unidentified or unexploited relationships may exist within the universe of source data, for instance using correlation, inference or other analytic techniques. Newly detected, identified or inferred data groupings, which may for instance reveal hidden trends or patterns residing in the data, may then be added back to the enhanced data groupings. Users running analytics against the resulting medical or other datamarts may therefore access a richer set of related information, more powerful sets of predictive models as well as have their queries and other operations run more efficiently.

System and method for multidimensional extension of database information using inferred groupings

The present invention is directed to a method and system for generating cost accounting data. The method may include retrieving information including descriptive attributes that represent content captured during patient care. The method may additionally include associating each descriptive attribute with a cost. A system may be provided for generating cost accounting information in a healthcare environment. The system may include automated information capture equipment and a retrieval component for retrieving content captured by the automated information capture equipment. The system may additionally include an association component for associating captured content with a cost and an implementation component for generating cost accounting information based on created associations.

A computerized system and method for determining a discharge workload score for a patient and a discharge planner is provided. A first discharge data element for a patient is received and assigned a first value. A second discharge data element for the patient is received and assigned a second value to the second discharge data element. The first and second values are utilized to determine a discharge workload score for the patient. The one or more patients for a care planner are determined. The workload score for each of the one or more patients is accessed and the workload scores are utilized to determine an overall workload score for the care planner.
