A battery thermal monitoring system prevents thermal runaway during battery charging. A temperature sensor and relay may be connected to each battery. The temperature at each battery may be compared to the ambient temperature in the charging system. When the temperature difference between the battery charging temperature and the ambient temperature exceeds a predetermined difference, the relay may disconnect the battery from the charging source.

A roller skate having enhanced durability and stability is disclosed. The skate includes a platform for supporting a skater's foot. The platform includes a toe plate and heel plate connected by an adjustable connecting assembly. A front truck is affixed to the underside of the toe plate, while a rear truck is affixed to the underside of the heel plate. The front truck includes simple bracket arms for affixing a single front wheel which is capable of rotating, but not capable of tilting about the platform's longitudinal axis. Meanwhile, the rear wheel truck is mounted to the underside of the heel plate so as to permit both tilting movement about an inclined longitudinal axis, and also rotation about a transverse axis relative to the roller skate's platform. Preferably, the roller skate includes three wheels rotatably mounted to the rear wheel truck.

Roller skate

A roller skate having enhanced durability and stability is disclosed. Furthermore, the roller skate is particularly adapted for affixing to a person's footwear, such as sneakers, boots or the like. The skate includes a platform for supporting a skater's foot. The platform includes a toe plate and heel plate connected by an adjustable connecting assembly. A front truck is affixed to the underside of the toe plate, while a rear truck is affixed to the underside of the heel plate. The front truck includes simple bracket arms for affixing a single front wheel which is capable of rotating, but not capable of tilting about the platform's longitudinal axis. Meanwhile, the rear wheel truck is mounted to the underside of the heel plate so as to permit both tilting movement about an inclined longitudinal axis, and also rotation about a transverse axis relative to the roller skate's platform. Preferably, the roller skate includes three wheels rotatably mounted to the rear wheel truck. A button projects upwardly from the roller skate's heel plate so as to engage a skater's heel when it is placed upon the roller skate's platform. The button is connected to the roller skate's connecting assembly so that depression of the button causes the platform to unlock from an extending condition to allow the skate to automatically contract to capture a skater's foot. Preferably, the skate's toe plates and heel plates include prongs for projecting into and affixing to a skater's shoe.

A roller skate having enhanced steerability and stability is disclosed. The skate includes a platform for supporting a skater's foot and front and rear wheel trucks secured to the underside of the platform. A pair of front wheels is rotatably mounted in transverse axial alignment on the front wheel truck and a pair of rear wheels is rotatably mounted in transverse axial alignment on said rear wheel truck. The pairs of front and rear wheels are also in parallel axial alignment with each other and mounted on their respective wheel trucks for resiliently controlled, tilting movement about downwardly inclined longitudinal axis. In addition, a fifth wheel is rotatably mounted on the front wheel truck between the pairs of front and rear wheels and in parallel axial alignment with the wheel pairs. An additional preferred roller skate includes a single wheel rotatably mounted to the front toe plate. The front wheel is not tiltable about the skate's longitudinal axis. This roller skate includes three wheels rotatably mounted to a rear wheel truck. The rear wheel truck is mounted to the skate's heel plate by a pivot mount allowing the three rear wheels to pivot about the skate's transverse axis which also allows a rear center wheel to engage a brake pad. Moreover, the rear wheel truck is mounted to the heel plate for providing tilting movement at least partially about the skate's longitudinal axis to permit turning.

Roller skate and wheel trucks therefor

A roller skate having enhanced steerability and stability is disclosed. The skate includes a platform for supporting a skater's foot and front and rear wheel trucks secured to the underside of the platform. A pair of front wheels is rotatably mounted in transverse axial alignment on the front wheel truck and a pair of rear wheels is rotatably mounted in transverse axial alignment on said rear wheel truck. The pairs of front and rear wheels are also in parallel axial alignment with each other and mounted on their respective wheel trucks for resiliently controlled, tilting movement about downwardly inclined longitudinal axes. In addition, a fifth wheel is rotatably mounted on the front wheel truck between the pairs of front and rear wheels and in parallel axial alignment with the wheel pairs.

A truncated cone shaped holder with a serrated top opening receives and grips any size bottle around the neck with opposing support tabs. The broad cone surface imprinted with a logo covers a substantial portion of the bottle. A bracket with a protruding hook connects to the base of the cone with a living hinge. A pin may connect the cone to the bracket to maintain the bracket in a vertical orientation. The holder hooks onto a belt, waistband, bicycle cable, vehicle window, desk handle or other element. The bottle is released by squeezing in two opposing sides of the base of the cone to widen the top opening and release the support tabs from the bottle neck. Alternately pull tabs on the support tabs release the bottle. The holder may be formed in one piece by molding flexible plastic. The hook bracket lays flat for stacking the units for shipping and storing.
