The present disclosure relates to a system for performing scanning projection stereolithography. The system uses a light projector which is configured to generate a polymerizing optical signal to initiate polymerization of a photopolymerizable resin or material at a build plane. An optics subsystem collimates and focuses the polymerizing optical signal. The optics subsystem is movable relative to the build plane to optimize focus of the polymerizing optical signal at the build plane. A light scanning subsystem directs the polymerizing optical signal received from the optics subsystem to selected X axis and Y axis locations on the build plane. A positioning subsystem positions the optics subsystem at a selected location relative to the build plane, where the selected location is chosen to optimize focusing of the polymerizing optical signal at a specific, selected X/Y location on the build plane.

Diagnostics and resolution optimization for scanning projection stereolithography

An optical laser beam director assembly is disclosed. The beam director assembly includes a monolithic optics piece formed of transparent optical material, a laser source is coupled to the monolithic optics piece to provide a laser beam to the optics piece, and a beam steerer connected to the optics piece to direct the laser beam output from the optics piece onto a target.

Integrated optics for high energy laser applications

Integrated telescopes are described that are stable and compact, and include optics pieces that are susceptible to stray light. One example telescope includes an optics piece formed of a transparent optical material and two surfaces with each surface including a reflector surface and a baffle. The baffles may be formed in a groove in one of the surfaces of the optics piece. The baffle may have an index of refraction that is approximately the same as an index of refraction of the optics piece. The baffle may include a blackened epoxy, a carbon black material, or a powdered black spinel. The integrated telescope may include a short-wave infrared image sensor fixed in position relative to the optics piece.

Integrated telescope for imaging applications

The telescopes described are configured in an integrated telescope package by permanently fixing optical components of the telescope at predefined positions without having movable or adjustable components in the optical layout of the telescope to improve immunity to vibrations and other perturbations and to maintain stability of the optical alignment.

Integrated telescope assembly

An ephemeris refinement system includes satellites with imaging devices in earth orbit to make observations of space-based objects ('target objects') and a ground-based controller that controls the scheduling of the satellites to make the observations of the target objects and refines orbital models of the target objects. The ground-based controller determines when the target objects of interest will be near enough to a satellite for that satellite to collect an image of the target object based on an initial orbital model for the target objects. The ground-based controller directs the schedules to be uploaded to the satellites, and the satellites make observations as scheduled and download the observations to the ground-based controller. The ground-based controller then refines the initial orbital models of the target objects based on the locations of the target objects that are derived from the observations.

Reference-free compensated imaging makes an estimation of the Fourier phase of a series of images of a target. The Fourier magnitude of the series of images is obtained by dividing the power spectral density of the series of images by an estimate of the power spectral density of atmospheric turbulence from a series of scene based wave front sensor (SBWFS) measurements of the target. A high-resolution image of the target is recovered from the Fourier phase and the Fourier magnitude.

A system for improving vision that can diagnose monochromatic aberrations within a subject's eyes, apply the wavefront correction, and then enable the patient to view the results of the correction. The system utilizes a laser for producing a beam of light; a corrector; a wavefront sensor; a testing unit; an optic device for directing the beam of light to the corrector, to the retina, from the retina to the wavefront sensor, and to the testing unit; and a computer operatively connected to the wavefront sensor and the corrector.
