An apparatus for adjustably positioning an object of interest is described, and which includes a wave propagator and a wave detector which are both mounted in spaced relation to an object of interest, and which allows determination of a distance between the wave propagator and wave detector and the object of interest during operation; an adjustment device mounted in force transmitting relation relative to the object of interest an which imparts force to the object of interest to maintain the object of interest along a predetermined course of travel, and a controller coupled in controlling relation relative to the wave propagator and the adjustment device, and in signal receiving relation relative to the wave detector.

An endless belt for an object inspection system is described and which includes a flexible foundation layer; and a substantially transparent layer juxtaposed upon the flexible foundation layer, and which supports an object to be inspected, and which reflects and refracts a source of electromagnetic radiation so as to irradiate the object to be inspected.

A manufacturing device for use with a vibratory conveyor having a product transporting bed, and a method for manufacturing a product is described and which includes a flexible substrate having a first upper course, and a second lower course which rests upon a product transporting bed of a vibratory conveyor, and wherein a product which is being manufactured and transported by the vibratory conveyor travels between the upper and lower courses of the flexible substrate as the product moves along the vibratory conveyor.
