Refrigerant hoses include a permeation inhibiting layer, wherein the permeation inhibiting layer is formed of mixture based upon a polyether-ester block copolymer, a polyamide-polyether block copolymer, or a blend thereof. A tie layer surrounds the permeation inhibiting layer, and the tie layer is based on a butyl rubber. A reinforcing layer surrounds the tie layer, and a cover layer is disposed adjacent the reinforcing layer. In some cases, an innermost rubber tube is disposed inwardly adjacent the permeation inhibiting layer, and the innermost rubber tube is comprised of rubbery polymer. The refrigerant hoses may further include a second tie layer surrounding the reinforcing layer, and a second spiral reinforcing layer disposed between the cover layer and the second tie layer. Furthermore, the hoses may have a permeation rate of not greater than 0.0020 g/cm/day of R-1234yf refrigerant.

Flexible air conditioning barrier or veneer suction hose

A hydraulic brake hose assembly has a core hose layer, a first reinforcing layer over the core hose layer, an intermediate hose layer, a second reinforcing layer over the intermediate hose layer, and an outer hose layer over the second reinforcing layer. The first reinforcing layer has a braid pattern formed in a 4-over, 4-under pattern, and the second reinforcing layer has a braid pattern formed in a 3-over, 3-under pattern.

Hose assembly having varied reinforcing layers

In one embodiment, a hose is provided which includes a tubular inner core layer and a tubular outer layer. A single reinforcing layer is disposed between the tubular inner core layer and the tubular outer layer and is formed strands having a 1-over, 1-under braid pattern, a 3-over, 3-under braid pattern, or a 4-over, 4-under braid pattern. The strands define a coverage of the tubular inner core layer of at least about 75%.

Hose having a single reinforcing layer

A new and improved power steering hose assembly is described, which may comprise a core hose layer, a first reinforcing layer, an intermediate hose layer, a second reinforcing layer and an outer hose layer. The first reinforcing layer has a braid pattern formed in a 1-over, 1-under pattern. The intermediate hose layer is positioned over the first reinforcing layer. The second reinforcing layer is disposed over the first reinforcing layer. The second reinforcing layer has a braid pattern formed in one of a 3-over, 3-under pattern or a 2-over, 2-under braid pattern. The outer hose layer is positioned over the second reinforcing layer.

Power steering hose design for performance in high pressure and low to high volumeric expansion environments

A hose suitable for use in refrigerant systems. The hose has a barrier layer formed of at least two layers of thermoplastic resin. At least one of the layers is a vinyl resin. The resins are selected so that the hose has a permeation rate of virtually zero.

Refrigerant hose

A hose comprising a core layer, at least one reinforcement layer, and a cover layer, the core layer is comprised of inner and outer core layers, the hose being characterized by the inner core layer and the outer core layer being formed from different non-plasticized polyamides and are co-extruded at the time of formation. The hose has a permeation rate of less than 0.5 g/m/day.

The present invention relates to a hose construction containing a fluoroplastic barrier and a hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber layer. The hose comprises (1) a rubber layer comprising (a) hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber; (b) from 2 to 15 phr of an organophosphonium salt; (c) from 5 to 30 phr of trioctyl trimellitate; and (d) from 5 to 30 phr of a dialkyl diether glutarate; (2) a barrier layer comprised of a terpolymer derived from tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene and vinylidene fluoride, wherein the barrier layer is directly adhered to the rubber layer.
