Systems and methods are provided for operating an electrolyzer. The systems and methods include operations comprising: forming an electrical series connection through the plurality of electrolytic cells; bypassing a first electrolytic cell using bypass circuitry included in a first bipolar plate to electrically remove the first electrolytic cell from the electrical series connection while maintaining flow of current through a second of electrolytic cell; monitoring one or more parameters of the plurality of electrolytic cells; and generating, based on the one or more parameters, a model representing operating conditions of the electrolytic cells on an individual electrolytic cell basis.

Electrolyzers with bypassable bipolar plates

Various examples are directed to a solar power electrolyzer system comprising a first electrolyzer stack, a second electrolyzer stack, a first converter and a first converter controller. The first electrolyzer stack may be electrically coupled in series with a photovoltaic array. The first converter may be electrically coupled in series with the first electrolyzer stack and electrically coupled in series with the photovoltaic array. The second electrolyzer stack electrically may be coupled at an output of the first converter. The first converter controller may be configured to control a current gain of the first converter.

Electrolyzer system converter arrangement

A broadband modem hybrid transformer couples a broadband modem to a plain-old-telephone (POTs) line. The hybrid includes a full bridge having an impedance matching network to reduce the transhybrid attenuation of the hybrid. The second matching network(s) include various resistive and reactive components which together provide an impedance value selected based upon the impedance of the telephone line typically reflected into the primary windings of the transformer. The matching network increases the transhybrid attenuation of the hybrid, and thus reducing the amount of noise which couples from the modem transmit circuit to the modem receive circuit through the hybrid.
