The present invention relates to microemulsions and methods of preparing and using the microemulsions.

Surfactant microemulsions

Monomeric and oligomeric compounds of Formula (I) comprising hydrophobic alkyl or alkenyl ester moieties and hydrophilic carboxylate moieties: wherein Ris C-Calkyl, Ris C-Calkyl or C-Calkenyl, Y is a cation, Z is a sulfur-containing moiety, and n and k are integers as defined herein. The compounds of Formula (I) have surfactant properties. Also provided are compositions comprising the compounds of Formula (I), and methods of using the compounds or compositions for cleaning purposes.

Anionic surfactants

System and method relates to measuring separation rate of water from water-in-crude oil emulsions at elevated temperature. The system includes an electrolytic interface (conductivity) cell comprising a plurality of capacitance/conductance probes disposed at different heights in a fluid stream disposed within the interface cell and an analyzer. Logic of the analyzer determines the separation rate based on signals received from the plurality of capacitance/conductance probes in the interface cell that are coupled to monitor the fluid stream. Methods for making and using the system are also disclosed.

System and method for measuring separation rate of water from water-in-crude oil emulsions

The present invention provides sulfur- or selenium-containing compounds comprising hydrophobic moieties and ethoxylated ester or ethoxylated amide moieties such that the compounds have surfactant properties. Also provided are methods for using the disclosed compounds or mixtures thereof in a variety of applications.

Ethoxylated surfactants

The present invention provides sulfoxide compounds comprising hydrophobic ester or amide moieties such that the compounds have surfactant properties. Also provided are methods for using the sulfoxide compounds or mixtures of the sulfoxide compounds in a variety of applications.

Sulfoxide-based surfactants

A tissue graft composition is described herein that includes a segment of small intestinal submucosa having at least one nanoparticle incorporated therein such that the permeability of the segment of small intestinal submucosa is altered, thereby providing the segment of small intestinal submucosa with a more substantially uniform structure for cell migration and proliferation. The tissue graft composition may further comprise at least one macromolecule incorporated into the nanoparticle. The tissue graft composition may be utilized in seeded or unseeded methods of tissue repair.

The present invention is directed to a sensor-enabled geosynthetic material for use in geosynthetic structures and geosyntapes, a method of making the sensor-enabled geosynthetic material and the geosyntapes, and a method of measuring geometric strains of a geosynthetic product made from the sensor-enabled geosynthetic material. The sensor-enabled geosynthetic material includes a polymeric material and an electrically conductive filler. The polymeric material and an electrically conductive filler are combined to provide a sensor-enabled geosynthetic material. The sensor-enabled geosynthetic material having a predetermined concentration of the electrically conductive filler so as to provide the sensor-enabled geosynthetic material with an electrical conductivity and a strain sensitivity within the percolation region or slightly above it.

Sensor-enabled geosynthetic material and method of making and using the same

The present invention is directed to a sensor-enabled geosynthetic material for use in geosynthetic structures, a method of making the sensor-enabled geosynthetic material, and a method of measuring geometric strains of a geosynthetic product made from the sensor-enabled geosynthetic material. Methods and compositions for cementing applications. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a method of cementing comprising the steps of: providing a cement composition that comprises: a polyelectrolyte and/or an alkenoic acid first monomer; a filler; and a crosslinking agent; placing the cement composition in a desired location; and allowing the cement composition to set therein.
