A method for generating an application for sharing with users of a social network includes identifying a community for sharing community content related to a topic of interest. The community is associated with a social network accessed over a network. A request is received for defining a mobile application for the community. A plurality of content options are defined for the mobile application. The content options for including the content are obtained directly from the community and from content for the mobile application. The mobile application is produced with the plurality of content options and associated with a sharing link that is accessible by mobile device for download over the network. Community content is sent to the mobile application in response to requests for updates from the community received from the mobile application. The community content is customized for a user profile when accessed by the mobile application.

Autogeneration of application for a social network

A computing device that provides access to digital media items receives a command from an entity to share a digital media item. The computing device invokes a graphical user interface for sharing the digital media item in response to receiving the command. The computing device determines a start time to apply to the digital media item based on input received via the graphical user interface. The computing device then generates a link or embed code to the digital media item, the link or embed code identifying the start time, wherein accessing the link or embed code causes the digital media item to be presented from the start time.

System and method for sharing digital media item with specified start time

Methods are described for maximizing the size of a video displayed in a display area of a video player. The maximum height of the video is determined using its aspect ratio and the dimensions of the display area in the video player. The control panel is removed from the display in the video player if this allows the video to be shown at its maximum height while preserving the video's resolution. The control panel is displayed in the video player if the video can be shown at its maximum height without removing the control panel from the display.

A system and method for organizing social activity information on a website is disclosed. The system comprises a feed serving module and a presentation module. The feed serving module is configured to receive one or more user inputs for one or more activities associated with the social activity information. The feed serving module aggregates the social activity information based at least in part on the one or more user inputs to form aggregated social activity information. The presentation module is communicatively coupled to the feed serving module and is configured to receive the aggregated social activity information from the feed serving module. The presentation module generates a graphic associated with the aggregated social activity information and sends the graphic to a client.

Organizing social activity information on a site

A system and method for organizing social activity information on a website is disclosed. The system comprises a feed serving module and a presentation module. The feed serving module is configured to receive social activity of at least a first user from at least one third-parity source. The feed serving module aggregates the social activity information to form aggregated social activity information. The presentation module is communicatively coupled to the feed serving module and is configured to receive the aggregated social activity information from the feed serving module. The presentation module generates feed display associated with the aggregated social activity information and sends feed display to a client for display to a second user.
