A lightweight applicator system is provided for efficient extrusive dispensing of work material from a cartridge. A body of the system includes handle and cartridge frame portions. The handle portion defines a hub structure, which includes at least first and second retention structures. The cartridge frame portion includes a cage member configured for receiving a cartridge of work material, and is releasably coupled to the hub structure in revolvable manner First and second accessory tools are coupled respectively to the first and second retention structures in detachable manner A drive portion is operably coupled to the body, and includes a drive member passing displaceably into the cartridge frame portion for forcing extrusion of work material therefrom. The handle and cartridge frame portions of the body are formed of one or more predetermined nonmetallic materials.

Lightweight modular applicator system for extrusive dispensing of work material having onboard stowage of accessory tools

An applicator apparatus is provided for extrusively dispensing work material from a containment vessel, A base portion includes a handle and a control member. A cage portion coupled to the base portion defines a receiving compartment for at least one containment vessel. The cage portion is provided with a proximate end disposed adjacent the base portion and an intermediate section extending longitudinally therefrom to a distal end. A drive portion coupled to the base portion is actuated responsive to the control member for driving extrusion of the work material from the containment vessel. A clasp portion displaceably coupled to the cage portion is displaceable relative to the cage portion between first and second positions, where the second position is disposed along the intermediate section of the cage portion. The clasp portion forms a cuff about the receiving compartment of the cage portion for laterally retaining the containment vessel received therein.

Apparatus for extrusive dispensing of work material having adaptively adjustable containment vessel retention

An applicator system for extrusive dispensing of work material from a flexible pre-charged portion of a cartridge unit is provided. The system comprises a body portion having an actuator and a housing coupled thereto. The housing includes a cartridge bay and an arresting member displaceably coupled thereto. The cartridge bay is configured to receive the cartridge unit and defines at least one containment compartment for receiving the pre-charged cartridge. The arresting member is displaceable between open and closed configurations for releasably retaining the cartridge unit. The actuator, coupled to the housing in communication with the cartridge bay, includes a drive member engaging the pre-charged cartridge within the containment compartment. The body includes a handle and an activation member coupled thereto. The activation member is coupled to the actuator to selectively activate displacement of the drive member within the containment compartment responsive to user manipulation thereby compressing the pre-charged cartridge therein.

Applicator system for extrusive dispensing of work material from collapsible cartridge

A combination tool apparatus selectively stows and deploys a plurality of variously configured implements for spreading materials. A housing defines a coupling end portion and includes first and second plate members extending longitudinally from the coupling end portion to define a stowage compartment therebetween. A blade set includes a plurality of blade members respectively defining spreading portions of various configuration. Each of the blade members is angularly displaceable between stowed and deployed positions with respect to the housing. When stowed, each blade member is disposed substantially within the stowage compartment of the housing. When deployed, each blade member has at least a portion extending outward from the stowage compartment. A coupling member disposed at the coupling end portion of the housing is pivotally coupled to the blade members for angular displacement thereabout between the stowed and deployed positions. The blade members are biased to remain in the stowed position.
