A user equipment (UE) can connect to an evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) new radio (NR) dual-connectivity (EN-DC) network using both a Long Term Evolution (LTE) anchor link and a 5G NR non-anchor link. The UE shares RF chain components (e.g., antennas) between the LTE and NR links. The UE uses various techniques for controlling or modifying NR sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions and/or LTE operations to avoid interruption on LTE operations due to NR SRS transmissions.

Mitigating RF chain conflict between radio access technologies in wireless communication

A user equipment (UE) may monitor a channel for wireless communication associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) during one or more of a first active duration or a first inactive duration. The UE may operate in a first power mode during the first inactive duration. The UE may monitor the channel for wireless communication associated with a second RAT during one or more of a second active duration or a second inactive duration. The UE may operate during the second inactive duration in one or more of the first power mode or a second power. The UE may operate according to the first mode or the second mode based on the monitoring of the channel associated with the first RAT and the second RAT.

An apparatus may operate in a dual connectivity mode in which the apparatus is simultaneously connected to carriers of different radio access technologies. The apparatus may operate via a first antenna set of a plurality of antenna sets, the first antenna set including a first communication path. The apparatus may determine to operate via a second antenna set of the plurality of antenna sets based on whether one or more criteria is satisfied. The apparatus may select at least one second communication path for the second antenna set based on the one or more criteria. The present disclosure relates to resolving out-of-sync uplink grants for communication in an unlicensed spectrum. For example, a user equipment (UE) may receive an uplink grant from a network entity on a downlink communication channel, wherein the uplink grant is associated with a system frame number (SFN). The UE may further determine, based on the SFN, that the uplink grant is out of order with one or more stored uplink grants within a queue. Additionally, the UE may insert the uplink grant in an ordered position within the queue relative to the one or more stored uplink grants.

In one embodiment, the system comprises a processor configured to drop one of a plurality of concurrently established air interfaces and to subsequently determine that at least one predetermined criteria is met before attempting to add the air interface.

In one aspect, a method implemented in a wireless communication apparatus is provided. The data packet includes at least two segments, where each segment corresponds to at least one calibration instruction. In one aspect, a method implemented in a wireless communication apparatus is provided. The method includes receiving an indication of at least one operating mode indicative of a proximity and an orientation of at least one transmitting antenna of the wireless communication apparatus. The method further includes determining a power transmission characteristic based on the determined operating mode and at least one of a radio access technology type, a band-class, a transmission configuration, an uplink channel, a traffic state, and a radio access technology transmission state used by the wireless communication apparatus, or any combination thereof.

Techniques for controlling operation of control loops in a receiver are described. The operation of at least one control loop is modified in conjunction with a change in operating state, which may correspond to a change in linearity state, gain state, operating frequency, antenna configuration, etc. A change in linearity state may occur when jammers are detected and may cause bias current of analog circuit blocks to be adjusted. The at least one control loop to be modified may include a DC loop, an AGC loop, etc. The operation of a control loop may be modified by disabling the control loop or changing its time constant prior to changing operating state, waiting a predetermined amount of time to allow the receiver to settle, and enabling the control loop or restoring its time constant after waiting the predetermined amount of time.

Techniques for controlling operation of control loops in a receiver

Techniques for operating a receiver to linearity performance and higher receive signal to noise ratio are described. The receiver includes one or more circuit blocks, e.g., a low noise amplifier (LNA), having discrete gain states. The gain states are selected based on switch points, with each switch point indicating a specific received signal level at which to switch from one gain state to another gain state. The switch points may be dynamically selected based on channel conditions, which may be characterized by the presence or absence or strength or frequency of jammers. A first set of switch points may be selected when jammers are detected, and a second set of switch points may be selected when jammers are not detected. The gain states are selected in accordance with the set of switch points selected for use.

In a communications system, transmitter power gain can be changed between symbols. A power gain change of a first part of a transmit chain is initiated a first time, whereas a power gain change of a second part of the transmit chain is initiated at a second time, such that the resulting power gain changes of the first and second parts both occur substantially within an inter-symbol time in a desired relationship to one another. In one example, the power gain change of the first part is initiated before the beginning of the inter-symbol time to account for expected serial bus latency between initiation and execution of the power gain change of the first part. The power gain change of the second part is initiated during the inter-symbol time such that overall power does not exceed an amount (for example, a maximum permitted under a communication standard).
