An accessory apparatus includes a housing, an apparatus connector, a plurality of auxiliary accessory interfaces, and an internal microcontroller. The connection connector is configured to mate with a corresponding accessory connector of a physical controller to electrically connect the internal microcontroller to the physical controller. Each auxiliary accessory connector is configured to enable a separate auxiliary user input device to operatively connect to the accessory apparatus and electrically connect with the internal microcontroller. The internal microcontroller is configured to: (1) receive an input control signal from an auxiliary user input device operatively connected to an auxiliary accessory connector of the plurality of auxiliary accessory connectors, (2) map the input control signal to a mapped control signal corresponding to a physical control of the physical controller, and (3) send the mapped control signal to the physical controller via the apparatus connector.

Cleaner apparatus for a phase change ink printer

A system for restraining printhead movement in an imaging device includes an imaging device frame; a carriage operably coupled to the imaging device frame for movement between a print position and a retracted position; and a printhead array movably supported by the carriage for translation with respect to the carriage. The system includes a restraint system supported by the carriage. The restraint system has at least one carriage restraint pin and a printhead restraint pin. The at least one carriage restraint pin is configured for movement into and out of engagement with the imaging device frame and the printhead restraint pin being configured for movement into and out of engagement with the printhead array when the carriage is at the retracted position.

A method of manufacturing an ink stick for use in a phase change ink jet imaging device includes heating phase change ink material to an extrusion temperature at which the phase change ink material is in a malleable state. The ink is then extruded through an extrusion orifice to form at least one extruded ink filament having at least one cross-sectional dimension transverse to the extrusion direction that is less than approximately 12 mm. The at least one ink filament is then accumulated.

A vent screen for an electronic device is provided. The vent screen may include a framework formed from an integral substrate, and a plurality of voids formed in the framework. Typically, the voids are formed by etching away portions of the substrate, and are separated from each another by a plurality of separators formed in the framework. In one example, a method for controlling temperature in a projection device, comprises measuring a plurality of temperatures in the projection device; averaging said plurality of temperatures to determine an averaged temperature; determining an error between a set-point temperature and said averaged temperature; and automatically adjusting a blower in said projection device based on said determined error. In another example, a method for controlling temperature in a projection device having a lamp and a blower comprises measuring temperature in the projection device; and selectively adjusting both a first signal to the blower and a second signal to the lamp based on said measured temperature to control temperature in the device.
