The present invention relates in general to bacterial cells having genetic alterations that result in increased expression of a protein of interest and methods of making and using such cells. Aspects of the present invention include altered Gram positive microorganisms having one or more a genetic alterations that reduce the expression of a gene in the sin operon, thereby resulting in the enhanced expression of one or more proteins of interest.

Enhanced protein expression

The present invention relates in general to bacterial cells having a genetic alteration that results in increased expression of a protein of interest and methods of making and using such cells. Aspects of the present invention include Gram positive microorganisms, such asspecies, having a genetic alteration that modifies activity of a protein encoded by the ykf operon and results in enhanced expression of a protein of interest.

The present invention provides methods for protein engineering and serine protease variants produced there from. Specifically, the present invention provides serine protease variants having one or more substitutions as compared to a reference serine protease. In addition, the present invention provides compositions comprising these serine protease variants. In some embodiments, the present invention provides cleaning compositions comprising at least one of these serine protease variants.

In alternative particularly preferred embodiments, the anti-VEGF peptides are expressed on a scaffold protein. In some most preferred embodiments, the scaffold protein comprises BBI.

Peptide personal care compositions and methods for their use

The present invention relates to modified variant Bowman Birk Protease Inhibitor proteins (BBPIs) that comprise peptides that bind target proteins, and that are further modified to have greater protease inhibitory activity and/or be produced at greater yields than the unmodified BBPIs.
