A method for guiding bone removal during a surgical procedure includes receiving a two-dimensional image of at least a portion of a joint during the surgical procedure, determining an alignment of a pre-generated three-dimensional model of the at least a portion of the joint with the two-dimensional image based on one or more features in the two-dimensional image that are associated with the at least a portion of the joint, wherein the pre-generated three-dimensional model comprises a representation of planned bone removal, generating an overlay image based on the determined alignment, the overlay image comprising an overlay of at least a portion of the representation of planned bone removal on the two-dimensional image, and displaying the overlay image to guide bone removal during the surgical procedure.

Systems and methods for visually guiding bone removal during a surgical procedure on a joint

Disclosed are computer visual guidance systems for guiding surgeons through arthroscopic debridement of bony pathologies, including by automatically generating annotations relating to characteristics of bony pathology in an image. The annotation may be generated in accordance with a determination as to whether a femoral head of the bony pathology is endospherical or exospherical. The annotation may be generated in accordance with a mathematical model created based on anatomies of subjects other than the patient. Further disclosed is a user interfaces for guiding a surgeon through arthroscopic debridement of a bony pathology, wherein intraoperative images are displayed simultaneously with a preoperative plan comprising interactive three-dimensional models of an anatomical feature of a patient. Further disclosed is a user interface for guiding a physician in categorizing images of a patient, wherein the interface comprises an image viewing window and an interactive checklist for different image categories to be captured.

Systems and methods for treating a joint

Presented herein are systems and methods for performing three-dimensional measurements of a surgical space using two-dimensional endoscopic images. According to an aspect, video data taken from an endoscopic imaging device can be used to generate a three-dimensional model of the surgical space represented by the video data. In one or more examples, two-dimensional images from the video data can be used to generate a three-dimensional model of the surgical space. In one or more examples, the one or more two-dimensional images of the surgical space can include a fiducial marker as part of the image. Using both the depth information and a size reference provided by the fiducial marker, the systems and methods herein can generate a three-dimensional model of the surgical space. The generated three-dimensional model can then be used to perform a variety of three-dimensional measurements in a surgical cavity in an accurate and efficient manner.

Systems and methods for generating three-dimensional measurements using endoscopic video data

The present disclosure is directed to arthroscopic visualization systems and methods. The visualization system can include a camera with a fluid inflow path, wherein a proximal end of the camera is configured to fluidly connect a fluid reservoir to the fluid inflow path. The system can also include a cannula with a lumen, wherein the lumen is configured to be fluidly connected to the fluid inflow path at a distal end of the camera. In addition, the system can also include a scope, wherein the scope is configured to be connected to the distal end of the camera and a portion of the scope is configured to be inserted into the lumen of the cannula.

Systems and methods for arthroscopic visualization

A method for automatically generating and applying annotations to one or more images captured during a surgical procedure using an imaging tool are provided. In one or more examples, the annotations can be generated by applying one or more machine learning classifiers to the images to determine the presence of various features contained within the images. Optionally, the machine learning classifiers can be configured to determine the anatomy displayed in a particular image as well as the procedure step shown in a given image. Using these two determinations, the systems and methods described herein can generate one or more annotations that are then overlaid on or laid next to an image so as to provide the patient or other person viewing the image with context as to what the image is showing.

Systems and methods for classifying and annotating images taken during a medical procedure
