A light fixture can include a housing and a sensor coupled to the housing. The sensor of the light fixture can include a first port disposed in the occupiable volume of space, where the first port is configured to measure a first parameter in the occupiable volume of space. The sensor of the light fixture can also include a second port disposed in a plenum volume of space, where the second port is configured to measure the first parameter in the plenum volume of space. The sensor of the light fixture can further include a first transducer coupled to the first port and the second port, where the first transducer is configured to determine a first parameter differential between the first parameter measured by the first port and the first parameter measured by the second port.

Light fixture sensors for external use

A processor receives data associated with a device. On the basis of the data associated with the device, the processor modulates a light from the artificial light source at a rate imperceptible to a human eye while detectable by a light sensor device. The modulated light is representative of the data associated with the device. The modulated light is detected, demodulated, and decoded by the light sensor device to retrieve the data associated with the device. Further, the data associated with the device is presented by the light sensor device to a user. In addition, the light sensor device is configured to receive input data from the user and communicate the input data to the processor via a wireless link. The processor is configured to receive the input data from the light sensor device and effect a change in a characteristic of the device based on the received input data.

Artificial light source based messaging platform

A distributed low voltage power system is disclosed herein. The system can include a power source generating line voltage power, and a first line voltage cable having a first line voltage end and a second line voltage end, where the first line voltage end is coupled to the power source. The system can also include a first power distribution module (PDM) comprising a first power transfer device and a first output channel. The system can further include a first LV cable having a first LV end and a second LV end, where the first LV end is coupled to the first output channel of the first PDM. The system can also include at least one first LV device operating on the first LV signal, where the second LV end of the first LV cable is coupled to the at least one first LV device.

Distributed low voltage power systems

A lighting device for illumination, data communication, and occupancy detection includes a processor and a transmitter circuit that is configured to generate a first electrical signal. During a first time duration, the first electrical signal is a carrier signal having a first frequency, and during a second time duration, the first electrical signal is a data encoded signal. The lighting device further includes a light source configured to emit a first visible light based on the first electrical signal. The lighting device also includes a receiver configured to receive a second visible light. The processor is configured to detect a motion in a monitored area based on the second visible light.

Visible-light based communication and occupancy detection

A light fixture can include at least one light fixture component comprising at least one light source that emits a first level of fixture light. The light fixture can also include at least one sensor that measures a first total light amount at a first time of a first day, where the first total light amount includes the first level of fixture light and a first natural light amount. The light fixture can further include a controller coupled to the at least one sensor and the at least one light fixture component, where the controller controls and communicates with at least one sensor. The controller can further control the at least one light fixture component based on the first total light amount measured by the at least one sensor at the first time of the first day.

Self-learning auto-cutoff daylight detection control for light fixtures

An ultrasonic transmitter of an ultrasonic occupancy sensing device has adjustable ultrasonic signal output amplitude to prevent overload of an ultrasonic sensor associated with the ultrasonic occupancy sensing device. A circuit for controlling the operating voltage to a power driver of the ultrasonic transmitter allows field adjustment of the output thereof so that an optimal level (amplitude) for the transmitted ultrasonic signal may be found in an area of actual use (e.g., field adjustable).

A luminaire can comprise a system that automatically adjusts light output from the luminaire to control light level in an illuminated area. The system can increase light output if the light level in the area falls below a target light level or decrease light output if the light level in the area rises above the target. For example, when the area is illuminated by a combination of sunlight and luminaire light, the light level can be maintained at the target level by gradually decreasing light output as the sunlight contribution increases in the morning and by gradually increasing light output as the sunlight contribution decreases in the evening. The system adjustments can take into consideration whether the light level is offset from the target due to a change in the target or a short-term fluctuation that may be due to a cloud temporarily blocking the sun.

Method and system for illumination management

Multiple signals are received from multiple receivers in a motion sensor. Each signal is amplified and undergoes a gain adjustment individually to generate multiple preamplified received ultrasonic signals. A separate demodulator circuit receives a different preamplified received ultrasonic signal and generates a sum of the demodulated signals and a difference between the demodulated signals. A low pass filter corresponding to a demodulator circuit removes the sum of the demodulated signals. The mixer circuit combines the difference between the demodulated signals to generate an integrated circuit. The gain of each preamplifier may be adjusted based on a sensitivity setting, target levels of the preamplifier, and a level of a preamplified ultrasonic signal, resulting in an integrated motion sign that originated from multiple signals to different receivers in the sensor housing.

Multiple ultrasonic preamplifiers with independent automatic gain control

One or more switches in an occupancy sensor are enabled. When a switch is enabled, a reduction timer measuring a reduction time delay is initiated when an occupancy condition is detected by an occupancy sensor. In addition, one or more outputs controlled by the reduction timer are activated so that a signal is sent to a control system to notify the control systems of the occupancy condition. When the reduction time delay expires, the outputs of the occupancy sensor that are controlled by the reduction timer are deactivated, and so the outputs cease sending the signal to the control system. As a result, the control systems initiate their own internal time delays sooner.
