Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing easy digital subscriber line ('DSL') signal detection. In various embodiments, after a connector of a signal detector has been inserted into a network service port, a processor of the signal detector may determine whether at least one C-tone is present on at least one signal wire communicatively coupled to the network service port, the at least one C-tone being indicative of network service being ready for provision via the at least one signal wire. If so, the processor of the signal detector may cause a display device to indicate to a user that the network service port is ready to provide the network service. A modem can then be installed by connecting with the network service port. The connector, the processor, and the display device are integrated within a single, compact, handheld form factor of the signal detector.

Easy DSL signal detector

Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing easy digital subscriber line ('DSL') signal detection. In various embodiments, after a connector of a signal detector has been inserted into a network service port, a processor of the signal detector may determine whether a pilot tone is present on at least one signal wire communicatively coupled to the network service port, the pilot tone being indicative of network service being ready for provision via the at least one signal wire. If so, the processor of the signal detector may cause a display device to indicate to a user that the network service port is ready to provide the network service. A modem can then be installed by connecting with the network service port. The connector, the processor, and the display device are integrated within a single, compact, handheld form factor of the signal detector.

A wireless testing system is provided that testing transmission speeds associated with a WLAN or other wireless network. In one instance, a network transmission between a device in a telecommunications network and a modem be measured and initiated via an application executed on a mobile device. One or more Wi-Fi speed tests may also be performed to determine a transmission speed between a wireless device associated with the premises and the modem of the WLAN. To conduct the Wi-Fi speed test, a mobile device (such as the mobile device executing the application) may transmit, in some instances in response to an input to the mobile device, an instruction to the test controller to conduct the Wi-Fi speed test. The measured transmission speeds may be controlled by a controller that may store the speed test results in a network repository available to the mobile device.

The present application describes a network interface device that acts as an interface between a network service provided by a network service provider and one or more network access devices associated with a particular location and/or entity.

Smart network interface device

A wireless testing system is provided that tests Wi-Fi signal strength of devices of a local network to determine distribution of network devices within the local network. In particular, one or more Wi-Fi-based devices may be located within or near a premises in which a wireless network is present. The devices are configured to automatically connect to a particular test broadcast signal from a modem and provide signal strength data. An application may log into or otherwise access the information obtained by the modem concerning the Wi-Fi signal strength of the wireless devices. The application may analyze the Wi-Fi signal strength information and may execute a recommendation engine to provide one or more recommendations/directions for installing components of the wireless network, such as wireless devices, modems, etc. to improve the coverage of the wireless network and provide a more robust wireless experience for devices within the wireless network.

Through the systems and methods described herein for provisioning a software automation and tracking performance of the software automation throughout its lifecycle. A realized benefit of deployment of the software automation can be determined and automatically reported according to a schedule. The reports may be provided to certain specified recipients such as project managers, executive officers, sales and/or vendor relations managers, and the like for analysis and processing by the various parties associated with the operation of the software automation. This all-in-one system provides a platform from which one or more software automation projects may be automatically managed through completion and deployment, improving efficiency of the project and management of all deployed software automations for a more cost-effective suite of such programs.

A device can receive an indication to perform a test of a capability of the device to receive data. The data can have a threshold data rate. The device can perform an action to cause the device to receive the data from a source of the data at the threshold data rate. The device can monitor a set of metrics related to the data or a performance of the device. The device can perform an analysis of the set of metrics after monitoring the set of metrics. The device can identify a source of an error based on a result of performing the analysis of the set of metrics. The source of the error can be related to the data or the performance of the device. The device can perform another action related to fixing the source of the error.

Automatic device testing

A tester device may establish a connection to customer devices using protocols, such as a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) protocol or an Open Mobile Alliance device management (OMA DM) protocol. The tester device may receive information related to wireless communications or operations of the customer devices and the information may be determined by the customer devices. The tester device may perform an analysis of the information. The tester device may provide instructions to the customer devices to cause the customer devices to use a channel to communicate. The tester device may perform a throughput test of the customer devices. The tester device may receive additional information based on performing the throughput test. The tester device may perform a comparison of the information and the additional information. The tester device may provide other instructions to the customer devices to cause the customer devices to use the channel.
