One or more embodiments increase the visual appeal and organization of presenting digital content items. In particular, one or more embodiments improve the visual appeal of a presentation of digital content items by emphasizing one or more digital content items within the presentation of digital content items. For instance, one or more digital content items may be emphasized within a graphical user interface including a gallery of digital content items. The emphasized digital content items can be selected based on a score reflecting a particular characteristic of the digital content item and/or a metric of user interest in the digital content item. Digital content items with relatively high scores as compared to other digital content items may be emphasized when presented in conjunction with the other digital content items.

A user viewing an online content item using an online content client application can, from within that application, launch an operating application to operate on the content item. The operating application can interact with the online content management provider to obtain a current copy of the content item and to save a modified content item back to the online content management service, e.g., if the user instructs the operating application to save the item. Interactions between the client application, the operating application and the online content management service can occur without requiring the user to manually initiate upload or download of any content items. Operations on an online content item can also be initiated from within an operating application.

Embodiments include a parallel computer having a plurality of compute nodes coupled for data communications over a data communications network. Embodiments include a first compute node entering a collective operation. Each compute node of the plurality of compute nodes is associated with the collective operation. In response to entering the collective operation, the first compute node decreases power consumption of the first compute node.

A client device can be configured to perform a local index search and a server index search to automatically identify and upload content items on the client device that have not been uploaded to an online content management system. A local index search can include creating a unique local identifier of a content item and searching a local upload index that includes the unique local identifier of each content item that has been uploaded. A server index search can include creating a unique server identifier of the content item and searching a server upload index that includes the unique server identifier of each content item stored on the online content management system. Content items that are determined to have not been uploaded to the online content management system based on the results of the two searches, can be uploaded to the content management system by the client device.

Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for collective operation management in a parallel computer are provided. Embodiments include a parallel computer having a first compute node operatively coupled for data communications over a tree data communications network with a plurality of child compute nodes. Embodiments also include each child compute node performing a first collective operation. The first compute rode, for each child compute node, receives from the child compute node, a result of the first collective operation performed by the child compute node. For each result received from a child compute node, the first compute node stores a timestamp indicating a time that the child compute node completed the first collective operation. The first compute node also manages, based on the stored timestamps, execution of a second collective operation over the tree data communications network.
