A multipurpose parts washer may include an automatic cleaning portion, with a first cleaning chamber for spraying parts, a second cleaning chamber for soaking parts, and a manual cleaning portion. Cleaning solution may be disposed in a reservoir of the first cleaning chamber at a reservoir level and in the second cleaning chamber at an agitation level that is above the reservoir level. The manual cleaning portion may be configured as a sink that is movably connected to the automatic cleaning portion to provide selective access thereto. A first thermal energy source may be used to heat the cleaning solution to a first temperature for the second cleaning chamber and the manual cleaning portion and a second thermal energy source may be used to heat the cleaning solution to a spray temperature greater than the first temperature for the first cleaning chamber. The multipurpose parts washer includes three cleaning portions. All portions use cleaning solution from a single pump, a reservoir portion to collect and store the important volume of cleaning solution and debris from the washing process, a single controller interface operated from a display, and a thermal energy source for heating the cleaning solution.

Multipurpose aqueous parts washer

The disclosure is directed to a method for servicing a parts washer having a movable sink and movable lid connected to a support frame to facilitate replacement and maintenance of a cleaning solution reservoir. A pump is also pivotally connected to the sink to lift the pump during replacement and maintenance operations.

The present disclosure is directed to a parts washer with a movable sink and a movable lid connected to a housing for facilitating replacement and maintenance of a cleaning solution reservoir. A pump is also pivotally connected to the sink to lift the pump during replacement and maintenance operations.

A parts washer including magnets located near a pump inlet to collect metallic particles suspended in the cleaning fluid; a casing to protect the pump mechanism from impact during handling; the pump oriented horizontally to take advantage of the separation of the cleaning fluid in successive vertical layers; two liquid level sensors to measure the level of the cleaning fluid in the reservoir; an evaporation control plate located at the interface between the reservoir and the receptacle of the reservoir to confine the vapor portion of the cleaning solution; protective handlebars placed next to the controls of a control module to protect the device from impact; and a pump motor control to provide a low flow rate of cleaning fluid using a pump without a variable regulator.

A separator to separate oil and debris from an aqueous fluid includes a container with a cover, the top portion of which includes a control panel access door. The separator draws an aqueous fluid with one or a plurality of skimmers that float on the aqueous fluid inside one or a plurality of corresponding reservoirs. When the separator is operating, the surface portion of the aqueous fluid is drawn into each corresponding skimmer hose and transferred to the separator by a pickup hose. The separator separates oil, debris and any sludge that may be in the aqueous fluid to provide a substantially filtered aqueous fluid. The substantially filtered aqueous fluid is then returned to the reservoirs through an exit hose.

A parts washer including a receptacle positioned on a reservoir for cleaning liquid having a drain opening and a module which engages a portion of the reservoir in the cleaning liquid for adjusting the temperature of the cleaning liquid and circulating the cleaning liquid into the receptacle. The module includes a heating element, a sensor and pump. An enclosure houses a temperature controller which displays the temperature of the cleaning liquid and a low liquid level condition. A bridge thermally links the heating element to the sensor so that the sensor normally generates a signal representative of the temperature of the cleaning fluid unless the level of the cleaning fluid is disposed below the sensor.

Parts washer with improved temperature and pump control

An oil-water and oil emulsion separation system using a plurality of transport vessels as the separation tanks. The containers or tanks are arranged in series with sludge or oil removed first and thereafter remaining oil is removed and finally a relatively pure aqueous solution is returned to the system. The unit is useful with parts washers or any apparatus with which water is contaminated by free oil or sludge. A floating skimmer is placed in the user's sump and a vacuum draws this into a series of containers in which it is processed and in which sludge and oil are successively separated. A positive displacement pump is used. A manifold having vacuum relief valves for at least one container is also provided. In one embodiment, flow restrictors are placed in at least one manifold.

Method and apparatus for sludge and oil separation from aqueous solutions/emulsions

An apparatus for removing floating and subsurface contaminants from a machine tool coolant bath is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a floating skimmer for collecting floating contaminants from the surface of the bath connected to an oil trap having an imperforate shell with a fluid tight column extending below the interface. A return conduit and a positive displacement pump are in series with the skimmer and oil trap. A submersible pump is disposed in the bath near the bottom for collection of water and water density contaminants and is connected to a remote filter assembly having a housing and a removable filter element. The filter assembly and the oil trap are both accessible without affecting the operation of the machine.
