A respiratory therapy apparatus includes components operable to simultaneously provide a High Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation (HFCWO) therapy and a Mechanical Insufflation/Exsufflation (MIE) therapy to a patient. The respiratory therapy apparatus includes a controller that controls a synchronization of the HFCWO therapy and the MIE therapy to provide respiratory therapy to the patient to effectively clear mucous or induce deep sputum from the lungs of patient.

A filtration module for comprises a filter housing defining two or more filter compartments. The housing has an input side with a gas inlet in fluid communication with each of the filter compartments and a gas outlet in fluid communication with each of the filter compartments. A filter element resides in each of the compartments intermediate the gas inlet to the compartment and the gas outlet from the compartment. One application for the filtration module is a respiratory therapy device.

A respiratory therapy device comprises a pneumatic control unit connectable to a source of medical grade oxygen for supplying oxygen to a first control unit outlet port at a first set of conditions and to a second control unit outlet port at a second set of conditions. First and second transfer conduits are in fluid communication with the first and second outlet ports. Each transfer conduit defines at least part of a flowpath to destination. Each flowpath includes a filter. A related filtration module comprises a filter housing defining two or more filter compartments. The housing has an input side with a gas inlet in fluid communication with each of the filter compartments and a gas outlet in fluid communication with each of the filter compartments. A filter element resides in each of the compartments intermediate the gas inlet to the compartment and the gas outlet from the compartment.

A breathing exercise apparatus comprises a chamber having a vent open to the atmosphere, a mouthpiece having an opening, a first member having a plurality of apertures positioned in the chamber between the opening in the mouthpiece and the vent, a second member having a plurality of apertures positioned in the chamber adjacent the first member, and a motor coupled to the second member and operable to move the second member with respect to the first member such that the apertures in the second member intermittently align with the apertures in the first member to vary the resistance a user experiences when both inhaling and exhaling through the apparatus.
