An apparatus, device, or method may detect or track aim direction or motion of a firearm and display information indicative of such aim direction or motion. Sequence of bullet strikes on a real or virtual target by multiple gunshots may be determined. A method may comprise detecting one or more gunshots of the firearm discharging live ammunition, measuring or determining aim directions or motions of the firearm before, during, and/or after the one or more gunshots, recording these measurements or determinations, and generating output for displaying images on a display.

Methods and systems for training and safety for firearm use

An apparatus, device, or method may detect aim or pointing direction of a firearm, and may display aim directions of the firearm for gunshots fired at a target. Sequence of bullet strikes by multiple gunshots may be determined. A method may comprise detecting gunshots of the firearm discharging live ammunition, measuring aim directions of the firearm substantially at times of detecting the gunshots, recording the times of the gunshots and/or sequence order of the gunshots, and generating output for displaying an image that includes bullet strike icons that represent bullet strikes on the target. Locations of the bullet strike icons in the image may be based, at least in part, on the measured aim directions of the gunshots.

Subject matter disclosed herein relates to an apparatus, device, or method for detecting aim or pointing direction of a firearm, the method comprising detecting a sound signature of a gunshot from the firearm; sensing an aim direction of the firearm substantially at the time of detecting the sound signature of the gunshot; setting a reference direction based, at least in part, on the aim direction; sensing a current aim direction of the firearm; comparing the current aim direction to the reference direction; and initiating an alarm if the current aim direction is beyond a threshold angle of displacement from the reference direction.

A projection system that projects a text or subtitle box onto an image minimizes the contrast between the text box and the image. A transition region surrounding the text box minimizes visual disruption to the image onto which the text box is projected. The positions of optical elements of a text projector enable the text box to gradually fade out. The text projector has a lamp that defines an object plane and a light path modifier. The light path modifier is offset from the object plane, toward the lamp to blend the borders of the text box into the image projected by an image projector.

Method and/or apparatus for projecting an image

An image projection system improves the brightness and/or color balance of a projected image. The system includes an auxiliary light source from which compensating light co-propagates with polychromatic light emitted by a primary light source along a primary light path. The compensating light has an emission energy content that minimizes an emission energy imbalance introduced by the primary light source. In a first preferred embodiment, the auxiliary light source is affixed at a location near the entrance end of a light tunnel such that the compensating light coincides with the primary light path before first reflection occurs. In a second preferred embodiment, the auxiliary light source is coupled to a light reflector adjacent to the primary light source and thereby allows the compensating light to propagate through the image projection system with the same efficiency as that of the light generated by the primary light source.
