A method of monitoring an automation script modifying software on a server. The method of monitoring comprises monitoring a server for an active customer process by a master application executing on a computer, starting an automation script with multiple sequential instructions for updating the software executing on the server by the master application, monitoring a resultant condition of the automation script after each instruction by the master application, creating a readable log of the resultant condition of the automated script by the master application after each instruction, and generating a user notification with an actionable link by the master application in response to a failure condition of the automated script. When the user activates the actionable link, the master application opens a screen group that includes a screen for instructions to the server from the master application.

The present disclosure generally discloses an automated service delivery capability for use in automating service delivery in a communication system. The automated service delivery capability may be configured to support, in a communication system in which communication between routers at sites of a first entity (e.g., communication service provider) is supported using a layer-2 circuit provided by a communication network of a second entity (e.g., communication network provider), automated discovery of the layer-2 circuit identifier of the layer-2 circuit by the first entity even though the layer-2 circuit is provided by the second entity and the first entity has limited or no visibility into the communication network of the second entity. The automated discovery of the layer-2 circuit identifier of the layer-2 circuit by the first entity enables the first entity to support automated service delivery using communication between the sites of the first entity based on the layer-2 circuit provided by the second entity.

A system and method for utilizing the optical service channel for secondary communications without impacting the system communications passing along the channel is disclosed. The secondary communications are combined with the system communications and injected onto the optical service channel. A communication system for providing an accurate timing signal and synchronization information is described herein. The communication system comprises a Precision Time Protocol (PTP) server, a Global Positioning System (GPS), a pseudowire device, and a PTP client. The PTP client receives a time of day data and frequency information from the PTP server, receives a timing signal from the GPS, synchronizes the time of day data and timing signal to create synchronized a time of day signal, and provides the synchronized time of day signal to the pseudowire device. The pseudowire device processes the synchronized time of day signal and the frequency information to perform a time-division multiplexing signal to Ethernet signal synchronized conversion.

A cable landing station for an undersea cable shared by a plurality of carriers is provided according to some examples of the invention. The cable landing station includes a first interface adapted for coupling to a first undersea cable portion and at least a second interface adapted for coupling to at least a second undersea cable portion. The cable landing station further includes a router including a plurality of ports. Each carrier of the plurality of carriers is assigned at least one exclusive port of the plurality of ports. The router is coupled to the first interface and the at least second interface. The router is logically partitioned between the carriers of the plurality of carriers and is configured to route packets between the first interface, the second interface, and the plurality of ports according to the logical partitioning between the carriers.
