A concentric cylinder drive assembly () used for the transmission of power in industrial machinery is disclosed. More specifically, a concentric drive assembly () with a hollow outer cylinder () having an internal surface with a bi-directional surface lay; an inner cylinder () having an external surface with a unidirectional surface lay oriented at a predetermined angle (&#x3c6;) along the length of the cylinder; an annular channel established between the outer and inner cylinders having a predetermined gap (); and a lubrication oil that substantially fills the annular channel is presented.

A final drive comprising a lubrication system is provided. The final drive comprises an axle housing and a differential housing. The differential housing is in alignment with the axle housing, and they share a longitudinal axis. The final drive further comprises a lubricant ring having a lubricant ring inner diameter. The lubricant ring travels about an inner surface of the axle housing. Further, the final drive has a longitudinal axis region, defined as the region formed by the lubricant ring inner diameter. The lubrication system comprises a lubrication inlet in fluid communication with a lubricant outlet. The lubrication inlet is disposed in the axle housing to capture a portion of the lubricant ring. The lubricant outlet is disposed in the differential housing to distribute the portion of the lubricant ring generally to the longitudinal axis region.

A vehicle hydraulic system includes a lube circuit, a pump supplying hydraulic fluid from sump to first and a second hydraulic control circuits and a filter circuit. The filter circuit includes a first outlet connected to the lube circuit, a sump line, and a second outlet connected to the pump. A suction filter is connected between the sump line and second outlet. A return filter is connected to the first control circuit outlet. A return line having an orifice is connected between the return filter and the first outlet. A backpressure valve has a member, an outlet connected to the second outlet, and an inlet and pilot line connected to the return filter outlet. A pressure sense line has one end connected to the return line between the orifice and the first outlet, and a second end connected to the member in opposition to the pilot line.
