An image forming device including a print unit having a housing and a scan unit disposed on the top surface of the housing. The scan unit is coupled to the housing such that the scan unit is operable to scan an image in an upright position and in a horizontal position. The coupling includes the scan unit slidingly engaging with the print unit along a first edge of the scan unit. A linkage member is pivotably coupled to the scan unit and the print unit for supporting the scan unit in the upright position.

A device for attenuating movement of a door includes a housing having a first surface spaced apart from a second surface for defining a sliding path for an elongated sliding member. The elongated sliding member engages with at least one of the first and second surfaces when the elongated member slides in a first direction. A connecting member having a first end connected to the door and the other end to the elongated sliding member is provided so that opening of the door moves the sliding member in the first direction. Damping material is disposed between the elongated sliding member and at least one of the first and second surfaces. The damping material applies surface tension forces to the elongated sliding member when sliding in the first direction such that movement of the door attenuates or dampens the movement of the door.

An imaging apparatus includes an image capturing system, and a controller communicatively coupled to the image capturing system. A scanner body has a scanner opening. The image capturing system is located adjacent the scanner opening. An LCD document glass is adjacent to the scanner opening. The LCD document glass is communicatively coupled to the controller. The LCD document glass is controlled to be in a transparent state wherein the LCD document glass is clear and a translucent state wherein the LCD document glass is darkened.

A method for automatically providing vertical misalignment correction in a hand held printer fixedly mounting a printhead having a plurality of ink jetting nozzles arranged in a column includes defining a fixed quantity subset of the plurality of ink jetting nozzles for printing a print swath; defining a reference line corresponding to a desired printing path; assigning print data to the feed quantity subset of the plurality of ink jetting nozzles for printing the print swath along the desired printing path; determining an amount of vertical deviation of the hand held printer from the reference line as the hand held printer is hand-scanned along the desired printing path; and dynamically shifting a location of the fixed quantity subset within the plurality of ink jetting nozzles to compensate for the amount of vertical deviation as the hand held printer is hand-scanned along the desired printing path.

A method for achieving accurate page margins on a media and a duplex imaging apparatus thereof. The method comprises: detecting a leading edge position by an edge sensor and a first left-to-right position of the media by an alignment sensor in a first imaging path; imaging a first side of the media in a print zone of the duplex imaging apparatus; removing the media from the print zone and disposing the media in a second imaging path; detecting a leading edge position by the edge sensor and a second left-to-right position of the media by the alignment sensor; determining a carrier reset distance by calculating a difference between first and second left-to-right positions, and shifting a print image by a distance substantially equal to the carrier reset distance thereby achieving accurate page margins for imaging a second side of the media with the print image. In another embodiment, the first left-to-right position can be determined by feeding the media into a preset first left-to-right position.

An imaging apparatus includes a printing mechanism having a media path. A print media source is provided for supplying a sheet of print media to the printing mechanism. A drive unit is provided, with a drive shaft coupled to the drive unit. A media sensor device is mounted to the drive shaft, wherein as the drive shaft is rotated in a first direction the media sensor device is moved from a first position that is out of the media path to a second position that is in the media path for sensing the sheet of print media. As the drive shaft is rotated in a second direction opposite to the first direction the media sensor device is moved from the second position that is in the media path for sensing the sheet of print media to the first position that is out of the media path.

The divider wall includes a first wall section and a second wall section attached substantially perpendicular to the first wall section. At least first, second, third molded ink flow paths connect each of the at least three segregated ink chambers with the printhead surface area. The second and third ink flow paths are oriented relative to their corresponding ink chambers for molding with a mold insert tool so that the cartridge body does not require a separately attached member to close mold insert tool insertion areas in the body.
