According to one example, a tibial prosthesis that can include a tibial bearing component, tibial baseplate, an insert and a fastener. The tibial bearing component can have medial and lateral proximal articular surfaces and an opposing distal surface. The tibial bearing component can define at least one recess therein with the recess having an opening at a periphery of the tibial bearing component. The tibial baseplate can be coupled to the tibial bearing component on the proximal surface thereof and having a distal surface configured to be disposed on a resected proximal surface of a tibia. The insert can be configured to be disposed within the recess and can engage the tibial baseplate and the tibial bearing component. The fastener can be insertable into the tibial bearing component and can be configured to retain the insert to the tibial baseplate.

The present disclosure relates to prosthesis systems having trays and liners having an asymmetrical locking mechanism to bias the strength of the liner to resist loading forces and associated methods. The tray has a lateral groove disposed in an inner surface of a lateral circumferential portion of the tray and a medial groove disposed in an inner surface of a medial circumferential portion of the tray. The liner has an upper segment and a lower segment. The liner has a locking portion for lockingly engaging the tray that includes the lower segment. The locking portion has a lateral toe positioned generally diametrically opposite a plurality of resiliently deformable medial fingers defined therein. The liner and the tray are engageable in a lateral-to-medial direction so that the plurality of medial fingers can resiliently deform to engage the medial groove subsequent to engagement of the lateral toe within the lateral groove.

Directional locking reverse shoulder prostheses and systems

A tibial prosthesis, and, particularly, a fixed bearing tibial prosthesis is disclosed that has a two-pronged securement mechanism. The securement mechanism may or may not be angled. Advantageously, the securement mechanism, working alone or in cooperation with other securement features, minimizes micromotion between the tibial tray and tibial bearing component.

Tibial prosthesis

A tibial prosthesis has a bearing component configured for an anterior-medial insertion, which advantageously avoids the extensor mechanism of the knee. A tibial tray may include a banana-shaped boss that corresponds to a notch formed in the bearing component. After the bearing component is inserted along the anterior-medial path, the boss is received within the notch by rotating the bearing component with respect to the tibial tray. This rotation seat the bearing component upon the tibial tray in the manner of a fixed-bearing prosthesis. Alternatively, the boss and notch may define angled central axes which allow straight anterior-medial insertion of the bearing component and locking engagement to the tibial tray.

A tibial prosthesis can include a bearing component and a tibial tray. The bearing component can include at least one concave articulating surface, a distal surface opposite said concave articulating surface, and a notch formed in said distal surface. The notch can define a longitudinal axis, the longitudinal axis defining an offset axis angle relative to the sagittal plane. The offset axis angle can range from greater than zero degrees to about 90 degrees. The tibial tray can include a support surface capable of supporting said bearing component, the support surface having a lateral edge and a medial edge opposite said lateral edge. The tibial tray can further include a boss having a longitudinal axis, the longitudinal axis angled with respect to the sagittal plane. The boss can be lockingly engageable with said notch along said offset axis angle to lock said tibial tray to said bearing component.

A mobile bearing knee prosthesis apparatus includes a tibial plate. The tibial plate includes a medial lobe and a lateral lobe conjoined in a dividing plane. The apparatus further includes a tibio-femoral insert and a stud-like protuberance extending from the tibial plate into the tibio-femoral insert. The stud-like protuberance includes a protuberance sidewall positioned in the tibio-femoral insert. The protuberance sidewall is bisected by the dividing plane and includes a pair of opposing eccentric convex arcuate portions, and the tibio-femoral insert is moveable relative to the tibial plate about an axis medially disposed from the dividing plane. A mobile bearing knee prosthesis apparatus includes a tibial plate and a tibio-femoral insert coupled to the tibial plate. The tibio-femoral insert includes a generally posteriorly positioned chamfered superior surface and defines a generally posteriorly positioned generally U-shaped space bounded at least in part by the chamfered surface.

A trialing assembly for use during knee replacement procedures to determine size and position of a tibial plate implant as well as the size and thickness of the articular surface prior to implantation of the implant. The trialing assembly includes a broaching plate having a tibia engaging bottom surface adapted for placement atop a tibia and an opposite top surface, the bottom and top surfaces extending between an anterior edge and a posterior edge of the broaching plate. The broaching plate includes an anterior rail and a posterior rail protruding superiorly from the top surface and extending along the anterior and posterior edges, respectively. A trialing plate is configured to removably fit atop the broaching plate between the anterior and posterior rails. The trialing plate includes an engagement member extending from a superior surface of the trialing plate and adapted to engage with an articular surface provisional.

An apparatus is provided for attaching a surgical component to a bone at a surgical site. The apparatus includes an elongated pin and a cam mounted to the pin. The cam is engaged with the surgical component such that rotating the cam about the shaft axis changes the surgical component position relative to the bone.
