In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may allocate a first amount of power to one or more radios for a time window based on radio frequency (RF) exposure information and one or more other criteria. The UE may allocate a second amount of power to a selected channel or communication utilized by at least one radio of the one or more radios for one or more time frames within the time window based on the first amount of power allocated to the at least one radio for the time window. The UE may transmit the selected channel or communication based on the first amount of power or the second amount of power. Numerous other aspects are described.

In some aspects, a user equipment may establish a communication connection with a serving cell associated with a first discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle configuration, determine, based at least in part on at least one of a first on duration of a first DRX cycle indicated by the first DRX cycle configuration or a type of traffic of one or more communications received during the first DRX cycle, an autonomous measurement gap associated with a neighboring cell, and perform a measurement of the neighboring cell during the autonomous measurement gap. Techniques for discontinuous reception cycle based measurement gaps

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit assistance information to a base station to request an update or a modification to one or more communication parameters configured at the UE. Such communication parameters may include a quantity of uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layers, a quantity of downlink MIMO layers, a minimum scheduling offset, a maximum quantity of component carriers, or a maximum aggregated bandwidth for a secondary cell group (SCG). In some implementations, the UE may transmit the assistance information requesting the update or modification to one or more of such communication parameters based on detecting that the UE satisfies one or more triggering conditions or thresholds.

Techniques for providing assistance information for reduced MIMO layers

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to select a set of beams to generate energy in a first coverage region (e.g., an out-of-coverage (OOC) region) to reduce the effects of a distorted electric field. The UE may select the set of beams based on gain parameters associated with a set of antennas at the UE, where the gain parameters are determined for communications in a second coverage region (e.g., an in-coverage (INC) region). In some examples, the UE may use iterative techniques to select the beams. In some examples, the UE may select the set of beams based on calculations using a set of codebook beams associated with the second coverage region. In some examples, the UE may additionally select the set of beams for communications in the second coverage region.

Techniques for separated beam design

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may initiate a broadcast or multicast (broadcast/multicast) application associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) while the UE is in a standalone mode for a second RAT; switch from the second RAT to the first RAT based at least in part on initiating the broadcast/multicast application; and switch from the first RAT to the second RAT based at least in part on failing to detect a communication associated with the broadcast/multicast application using the first RAT. Broadcast or multicast support for standalone mode

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for sharing a maximum transmit power limit between a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT. In one aspect, a wireless communication apparatus may reduce the maximum transmit power limit of a first uplink signal associated with the first RAT to obtain a first transmit power. The wireless communication apparatus may allocate a second transmit power remaining from the maximum transmit power limit to a second uplink signal associated with the second RAT. The wireless communication apparatus may reduce the maximum transmit power limit when the wireless communication apparatus is located at a cell edge, and a higher priority of the first RAT in relation to the second RAT may otherwise result in the second transmit power of the second uplink signal not satisfying a threshold.

Modifying transmit powers of uplink signals associated with different radio access technologies (RATs)

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, an apparatus may determine a time-averaged power limit of a set of antennas. The apparatus may modify an antenna switching configuration based at least in part on the time-averaged power limit. The apparatus may transmit a signal using an antenna, from the set of antennas, associated with the modified antenna switching configuration, wherein the antenna is associated with a higher power limit than one or more other antennas. Techniques for antenna switched diversity management

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify a first transmit power limit based at least in part on at least one of a specific absorption rate limit, a maximum permissible exposure limit, or a power density limit. The UE may modify, based at least in part on a scaling factor associated with a time interval, the first transmit power limit to obtain a modified first transmit power limit. A method for wireless communication performed by a head-mounted user equipment (UE), the method includes determining a first spatial relationship between an eye of a human user of the head-mounted UE and physical transmission and reception ports of the head-mounted UE; based on the first spatial relationship, determining a second spatial relationship between a plurality of radio frequency (RF) beam directions of the head-mounted UE and the eye of the human user; selecting a first RF beam direction from among the plurality of RF beam directions based at least in part on the second spatial relationship with respect to the first RF beam direction; and transmitting or receiving RF radiation using a first RF beam conforming to the first RF beam direction.

Wireless communication techniques employing beamforming based on spatial relationship to human tissue

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for receive chain selection at a user equipment (UE) with efficient switching between a reduced number of receive chains and an increased number of receive chains for downlink communications based on conditions at the UE. A UE may adaptively adjust the number of active receive chains based on downlink grant activity, channel conditions, network parameters, or any combinations thereof. An estimator block at the UE may determine to adjust the number of receive chains based on a number of downlink grants within one or more time periods. In some cases, grants for an amount of data that exceeds a threshold may be qualified in order to be counted at the estimation block. Further, a transient state may be provided where the UE may maintain a higher number of active receive chains until UE feedback is provided.

Receive diversity techniques in wireless communications

Techniques and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device may identify a set of beam level selection parameters. The set of beam level selection parameters may include traffic information, channel information, application information, or any combination thereof. The communication device may select, based on the identified set of beam level selection parameters, a beam level, from a set of beam levels, different from a baseline beam level associated with the wireless communication. The selected beam level may be associated with a number of antenna elements different from a number of antenna elements associated with the baseline beam level. The communication device may perform the wireless communication based on the selected beam level.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for antenna selection at a user equipment (UE). The UE may have a set of available antennas for uplink and downlink communications, and may select a first subset of antennas for uplink communications and a second subset of antennas for downlink communications. The first subset of antennas may be based on one or more uplink metrics, and the second subset of antennas may be based on the first subset of antennas and one or more downlink channel metrics, traffic amounts, or any combinations thereof.

Techniques for user equipment antenna prioritization

An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) has been disclosed. In some implementations, the ADC is configured to generate ADC samples based on input signals and an ADC input clock. The ADC is further configured to generate at a first time point a synchronized start signal indicating a starting point of capturing the ADC samples. The start signal and a system clock can be synchronized at a second time point. At a third time point, a capturing sample clock for capturing the ADC samples is generated. The synchronized start signal and the capturing sample clock can be input to a counter to determine a time difference between the second and third time points. An ADC output timing of the ADC samples can be determined based on the time difference.

Obtaining accurate timing of analog to digital converter samples in cellular modem

A user equipment (UE) may make a joint decision of adaptive receive diversity (ARD) and adaptive transmit diversity (ATD) configurations, including transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) antennas selection and/or blanking based on downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) traffic conditions. The UE may disable at least one Tx chain for a transmission of a codebook-based sounding reference signal (SRS) (SRS-CB) based on one or more of at least one DL traffic condition or at least one UL traffic condition, and transmit, to a base station, upon disabling the at least one Tx chain, the SRS-CB via an antenna associated with at least one active Tx chain.
