A system for delivering and applying a flowable mixture to an article (-) is disclosed. The system includes a mixture delivery system () and a skinning system (). The mixture delivery system () includes a mixer () configured to mix a dry material and a fluid to produce the flowable mixture, and a pump () configured to pump the flowable mixture to a delivery line. The skinning system () receives the flowable mixture from the mixture delivery system () through the delivery line. The skinning system () includes a skinning pipe () configured to apply the flowable mixture to the article (-) and a manifold () that supports the skinning pipe (). The skinning system () also includes an article feeding mechanism () configured to push the article (-) into the skinning pipe (). The skinning system () includes a transfer system () configured to hold the article (-) and move the article (-) out of the skinning pipe ().

Systems and methods for skinning articles

A glass body support assembly that supports a glass container body in an upright position includes a collet body and clamping fingers that clamp onto a necked-down portion of the glass container body. The collet body has a gas purge passageway extending therethrough to deliver pressurized gas to an interior of the glass container body.

Glass article processing apparatuses and methods

According to one embodiment, an apparatus for holding may include a plurality of ware keepers for receiving glassware. Each ware keeper may include a retention body comprising a wire coil circumscribing a glassware receiving volume. A lower-most winding of the wire coil forms a ware stop in the retention body. The retention body may include a spacer coil extending from the retention body below the ware stop. A base frame may include a plurality of apertures extending through the base frame. Each of the plurality of ware keepers may be positioned in a corresponding aperture in the base frame such that the retention body of each ware keeper is above a top surface of the base frame and the spacer coil of each ware keeper is below a bottom surface of the base frame.

A mold assembly includes a mold having a mold cavity defined by a mold surface having a three-dimensional shape and at least one opening for communication of fluid or vacuum to the mold cavity. A plenum base is mounted to the mold such that a chamber is defined between the plenum base and the mold, where the chamber is in communication with the at least one opening in the mold. A cooling plate is arranged in the chamber. A fluid passage is defined between the concentrically arranged outer tube and inner tube coupled to the plenum base. One fluid conduit extends through the inner tube and a first opening in the plenum base to the chamber. Another fluid conduit extends from the fluid passage through a side port in the outer tube and a second opening in the plenum base to the cooling plate.

A glass molding system and a method of making glass articles using the glass molding system are disclosed. The glass molding system includes an indexing table, a plurality of enclosures arranged along the indexing table, and a plurality of stations defined on the indexing table such that each of the stations is selectively indexable with any one of the enclosures. At least one radiant heater is arranged in at least one of the enclosures. A radiation reflector surface and a radiation emitter body are arranged in the at least one of the enclosures. The radiation emitter body is between the at least one radiant heater and the radiation reflector surface and has a first surface in opposing relation to the at least one radiant heater and a second surface in opposing relation to the radiation reflector surface.
