Implementations of the subject technology provide extended reality display devices that can be used on and/or off of a moving platform. Systems and methods are disclosed for separating out the motion of the moving platform from other motions of the device so that virtual content can be displayed without erroneous motions caused by the motion of the moving platform. The subject technology can provide extended reality settings on any suitable moving platform such as in a car, a watercraft, an aircraft, a train, or any other vehicle.

Extended reality for moving platforms

The subject technology provides structured-shutdown-mode versions of a video view of a physical setting of an electronic device. An electronic device may provide, at a first power consumption rate, a video view of a portion of the physical setting, the portion being physically blocked from being directly viewed by a user of the device, by the electronic device itself. Structured-shutdown-mode versions of a video view may be provided, at a second power consumption rate lower than the first power consumption rate, to a display of an electronic device when the device determines that it is in a low power or failure state. In this way, the electronic device can reduce the functionality and power consumption of the display in a structured manner, to continue to provide a version of the video view to the user in the low power or failure mode state.

Structured display shutdown for video pass-through electronic devices

A method performed by an audio source device. The method receives a first audio signal and a second, different audio signal and encodes the first audio signal and the second audio signal, wherein the first audio signal is encoded differently than the second audio signal. The method generates a first data packet that comprises the first encoded audio signal and a first volume level and a second data packet that comprises the second encoded audio signal and a second volume level, wherein the first volume level is lower than the second volume level and transmits, over a wireless connection, the first and second data packets as a dual audio stream to an audio output device.

Method and system for performing audio ducking for headsets

Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods that detect surfaces and reflections in such surfaces. Some implementations involve providing a CGR environment that includes virtual content that replaces the appearance of a user or the user's device in a mirror or other surface providing a reflection. For example, a CGR environment may be modified to include a reflection of the user that does not include the device that the user is holding or wearing. In another example, the CGR environment is modified so that virtual content, such as a newer version of the electronic device or a virtual wand, replaces the electronic device in the reflection. In another example, the CGR environment is modified so that virtual content, such as a user avatar, replaces the user in the reflection.

A system for evaluating information. The system defines a set of properties and one or more values for each property and then assigns property-value combinations to items of information and to profiles. Information is then evaluated by determining how the property-value combinations assigned to the items of information match those assigned to a profile. Assignments of property-value combinations have ratings and validities associated with them. In assignments to information items, the rating represents the relevance of the information item to the property-value pair; in assignments to profiles, it represents the relevance of the property-value pair to the profile. The validity for an assignment indicates a judgment concerning the strength of the assignment. The system further defines relationships between property-value combinations. When a property-value combination in a relationship is assigned, so are the related property-value combinations. One application for the system is in producing output that is personalized for a recipient. The recipient is represented by a profile. The output is a hierarchy of information items, and in making the output the system chooses among alternatives on the basis of the property-value assignments to the information items and the recipient's profile. Choice of components begins at the bottom of the hierarchy, with the scores of choices at lower levels affecting the choices at higher levels. Another use of the system is in evaluating feedback information items received from the recipient. Also disclosed are graphical user interfaces for defining properties and values and assigning properties and values to information items and profiles.
