A portable fuel preservation system is disclosed. The portable fuel preservation system may comprise a switch box configured to be coupled to an integrated fuel pump and control of a gas turbine engine. The switch box may comprise a circuit configured to cause a metering valve and a solenoid valve of the integrated fuel pump and control to open. A driver may be configured to inject preservation fluid into the integrated fuel pump and control.

The present disclosure provides a method of removing a bearing compartment from a gas turbine engine comprising inserting a tool between an aft portion of a low pressure turbine and a forward portion of a turbine exhaust case, the tool comprising one of a single wedge-shaped ring or a plurality of wedge-shaped segments, removing a plurality of fasteners coupling a flange of a bearing compartment housing to the turbine exhaust case, the bearing compartment housing containing the bearing compartment, and removing the bearing compartment housing from an aft portion of the gas turbine engine.

A lockout tool for an air cycle machine includes a lockout tool body threaded section, a lockout tool body end section, and a lockout tool body conical tip. The lockout tool body threaded section is operable to engage a threaded port of the air cycle machine that is proximate to a shaft of the air cycle machine. The lockout tool body end section includes a rotation interface operable to receive a rotational force to control engagement of the lockout tool body threaded section with the threaded port. The lockout tool body conical tip is operable to engage the shaft of the air cycle machine to prevent rotation of the shaft.

A cooling tube includes a tube member extending from a first end to a second end through an intermediate portion having an outer surface and an inner surface. The outer surface has an outside diameter. A flange is mounted at one of the first and second ends of the tube member. The flange includes a flange body extending from a first end portion to a second end portion through an intermediate section having an outer surface and an inner surface. The inner surface defines an inside diameter. The outside diameter of the tube member is between about 0.010-inch (0.0254-cm) and about 0.030-inch (0.0762-cm) smaller than the inside diameter of the flange.

A transfer tube including a tube member extends from a first end to a second end through an intermediate portion having an outer surface and an inner surface. The outer surface has an outside diameter. A flange is mounted at one of the first and second ends of the tube member. The flange includes a flange body extending from a first end portion to a second end portion through an intermediate section having an outer surface and an inner surface. The inner surface defines an inside diameter. The outside diameter of the tube member is between about 0.010-inch (0.0254-cm) and about 0.030-inch (0.0762-cm) smaller than the inside diameter of the flange.

Transfer tube for a ram air fan (RAF) assembly

A compressor for pressurizing a flow of air within an aircraft including an inlet providing the flow of air to the compressor. An outlet provides the flow of air, after pressurization by the compressor, to a chamber of the aircraft. A diffuser assembly is disposed between the inlet and the outlet. The diffuser assembly includes one or more vanes at least partially impeding the flow of air through the diffuser assembly. A backing plate is included having a surface adjacent to the one or more vanes. The surface includes a relief feature that enables air to bypass the one or more vanes. The relief feature has an axial depth of about 0.5% to 2.5% of a width of a flow path through the diffuser assembly or of about 0.5% to 5% of a thickness of a flange of the backing plate. A method of operating a compressor is also included.
