The present invention is directed towards an electrodepositable coating composition comprising a film-forming binder and electrically conductive particles, wherein the electrically conductive particles are present in an amount of at least 25% by weight, based on the total solids weight of the electrodepositable coating composition. The present invention is also directed towards methods of coating a substrate, coatings, and coated substrates.

Electrodepositable coating compositions and electrically conductive coatings resulting therefrom

The present invention is directed to a method for preparing a coated optical article including providing a non-conductive substrate; forming a conductive coating layer over the substrate; electrodepositing a first electrodepositable coating composition over the conductive coating layer to form a first electrodeposited inorganic coating layer; and electrodepositing a second electrodepositable coating composition over the first electrodeposited coating layer to form a second electrodeposited inorganic coating layer thereover, thereby forming a multi-layer antireflective inorganic coating over the conductive coating layer. Each of the first electrodepositable coating composition and the second electrodepositable coating composition is different one from the other, and each includes a sol prepared from a composition of a metal oxide precursor and protic acid such that each coating composition is hydrolyzed. Coated optical articles are also provided.

Method for preparing optical articles with multi-layer antireflective coatings

A tank or a pipe having an internal steel surface, at least a portion of the internal steel surface comprising a coating system. The coating system being formed of an overcoat layer and an overcoat-enhancing layer, the overcoat-enhancing layer being interposed between the steel surface and the overcoat layer. In use, the overcoat-enhancing layer enhances the chemical resistance of the overcoat layer to aggressive cargo types.

Disclosed are methods for treating metal substrates, including ferrous substrates, such as cold rolled steel and electrogalvanized steel. The methods include contacting the metal substrates with a conditioning composition including a free fluoride source and then depositing a pretreatment composition including a Group IIIB and/or IVB metal on a portion of the substrate contacted with the conditioning composition. Also disclosed are electrophoretically coated substrates treated by the methods.
