This disclosure describes, in part, systems and techniques for monitoring linkage joints of machines, such as earth-moving machines, using on-board sensors of the machines to identify linkage joints at risk of galling. The systems and techniques involve gathering sensor data and determining a galling risk score for each linkage joint. The galling risk score may then be used to alert an operator and/or maintenance system to determine when to take remedial action and/or perform maintenance while also avoiding costly downtime from galling failures.

A machine including a first kinematic joint, wherein the first kinematic joint is lubricated based on a first schedule and a second kinematic joint, wherein the second kinematic joint is lubricated based on a second schedule. The first schedule is different than the second schedule. A lubricant pump is configured to pump a lubricant and a distribution valve is in communication with the lubricant pump. The distribution valve has a first fluid outlet configured to supply the lubricant from the lubricant pump to the first kinematic joint and a second fluid outlet configured to supply the lubricant from the lubricant pump to the second kinematic joint.

A mechanical machine can include one or more kinematic linkages having kinematic joints that movably couple first and second rigid links and can include an automatic lubrication system to lubricate the kinematic joints. In an aspect, the automatic lubrication system is configured to monitor operational aspects of the machine such as machine operational data and geometric position and to dynamically determine timing and/or quantity of lubricant to direct and introduce to the kinematic joints.

The body includes an elongate member adapted to be coupled directly with a frame of the construction machine. The elongate member has a first length defined along the longitudinal axis and a first height defined perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The body also includes a short member adapted to be coupled directly with the frame of the construction machine. The short member is spaced apart from the elongate member in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The short member has a second length defined along the longitudinal axis. The second length is less than the first length. The body further includes a plate member coupled between the elongate member and the short member.

A counterweight assembly for a work machine includes a structure, support studs, a first side wall, and a second side wall. The structure is coupled to a frame of the work machine and defines through holes, a first side end, and a second side end. The support studs are coupled to the frame and correspondingly received into the through holes to support the structure against the frame. The first side wall extends from the first side end and defines a first eyelet. The second side wall extends from the second side end and defines a second eyelet. A work machine guard rail is received between the first side wall and second side wall. One or more of the first eyelet and the second eyelet receive a lifting assembly for lifting the work machine, and the support studs transfer a lifting force from the counterweight assembly to the frame.

An axle oscillation stop for a construction machine includes a body portion defining a first aperture. The axle oscillation stop also includes a first plate that defines a first through-aperture. The axle oscillation stop further includes a second plate that defines a second through-aperture. The axle oscillation stop includes a dowel pin adapted to removably couple the body portion with a frame of the construction machine. The dowel pin is at least partially receivable within the first aperture. The axle oscillation stop also includes a first fastening device adapted to removably couple the first plate with the frame. The first fastening device is at least partially receivable within the first through-aperture. The axle oscillation stop further includes a second fastening device adapted to removably couple the second plate with the frame. The second fastening device is at least partially receivable within the second through-aperture.

A final drive gearbox is described. The final drive gearbox is a double reduction gearbox for off-road machines, which, unlike currently available double reduction gearboxes, contains no planetary gear sets. The final drive gearbox contains spur gears having pockets adapted to contain brake disc packs. The pockets may permit utilization of a plurality of brake packs within the gearbox without requiring additional space or enlargement of the gearbox housing. Use of spur gears may thus enable use of fewer gear parts, while use of multiple brake packs may enhance final drive brake capacity, improve longevity of the brake packs, and lengthen brake servicing cycles.

A ground engaging machine includes a first and a second frame unit, and an articulation hitch coupling together the first and second frame units. The articulation hitch includes a pin, a first and a second bearing positioned about the pin, and abutting a first and a second axial side of an annular protrusion of a hitch plate in one of the first and second frame units. A clamping mechanism of the articulation hitch clamps the first and second bearings between first and second clamping components, such that they are preloaded against the annular protrusion.

Mounting arrangement includes a drawbar assembly universally coupled to a longitudinally extending front frame portion of a machine proximal to a front wheel and a distance rearward from the wheel. An implement mounting bracket pivotably coupled to the assembly defines an articulation axis. First and second hydraulic actuators advance respective power links coupled to the mounting bracket to rotate the mounting bracket about the articulation axis. Respective idler links limit the movement of the actuators and power links.

A machine includes a frame and a coupler assembly suspended below the frame, the coupler assembly configured for sideshift movement and having an implement mounting element for engaging with a mating feature on an implement. An implement grabber mounted to the coupler assembly is configured to grab an implement and move the implement via sideshift movement of the coupler assembly from a position lateral of the frame to a mounting position at which the mounting element of the coupler assembly can engage with the mating feature of the implement. A method of implement positioning for a machine includes grabbing the implement with a implement grabber mounted on a coupler assembly and moving the implement with the coupler assembly. The method also includes disengaging the implement from the implement grabber and actuating a mounting element of the coupler assembly to engage or disengage with the mating feature of the implement. The method and machine are amenable to mounting long objects to a motor grader, which are unsuitable for pick up via conventional means.
