A power equipment battery terminal fixing apparatus is disclosed and can include a housing including a frame and a connector biased away from the frame by a spring device. A battery case can be configured to slide into the frame of the housing along a sliding axis. The battery case can include a notch located at a bottom surface of the battery case and configured to receive the connector from the housing therein. The connector can include electrical contacts and alignment elements on a first side of the connector, and the spring device can be located at a second side of the connector opposite the first side of the connector. The alignment elements can prevent movement of the connector with respect to the battery case in a transverse and a vertical direction.

Battery terminal fixing apparatus and method for power equipment

Systems and methods for mounting a timing belt pulley to a crankshaft can include a crankshaft rotatable about a center longitudinal axis, the crankshaft including a pin assembly configured for connection to a reciprocating piston. A timing belt pulley can be positioned against the pin assembly and configured for engaging the pin assembly such that the timing belt pulley is coupled to the crankshaft for rotation about the center longitudinal axis. For example, the pin assembly can include a slot formed on an exterior surface thereof, and the timing belt pulley can include a key extending towards the pin assembly and configured for engaging the slot.

Timing belt pulley mounting and geometry for use in internal combustion engines

A lubrication and breather system for an engine that is generally adapted for use as either a vertically-oriented crankshaft-type engine or a horizontally-oriented crankshaft-type engine. The crankcase has first and second bearing bosses supporting first and second journal portions of the crankshaft. The second bearing boss lies above the first bearing boss when the engine is of the vertical-type. The system includes a cap that is secured over the second bearing boss and cooperates with the second bearing boss to define an annular chamber for receiving splashed oil produced in the crankcase. The cap has a plurality of ribs formed thereon that reduce an amount of oil, which is entrained in the blow-by gas, sent from the annular chamber to the breather chamber. The second bearing block includes an oil feed hole, a plurality of oil sumps, and a plurality of oil return holes, with the oil return holes being of relatively smaller size. Each of the oil sumps is associated with one oil return hole. A volume of oil ordinarily remains in the oil sump to limit entry of blow-by gases into the annular chamber via the oil return holes.

Oil seal and drain structure for engine

An apparatus and method for steering a vehicle with zero turning radius capability includes a movable steering handle, first and second CVT devices for independently driving first and second drive wheels, respectively, a transmission control device, and first and second biased guide members. The transmission control device interconnects the steering handle and the first and second CVT devices, and includes a mixing lever for controlling operations of the first and second CVT devices. Movement of the steering handle in a first steering direction causes the first guide member to move the mixing lever in a first actuating direction, and movement of the steering handle in a second steering direction causes the second guide member to move the mixing lever in a second actuating direction. The mixing lever can be positioned so as to cause the first and second CVT devices to drive the drive wheels in a manner permitting the vehicle to be steered at a zero turn radius in response to movement of the steering handle in a selected steering direction.
