Ozone converters containing differing ozone converting materials are provided into air aircraft airflow management systems, with the ozone converter positioned in an air management architecture at positions configured to assist replacement, and maintenance, and with the ozone converters further positioned downstream of air conditioning packs, and with the ozone converters configured to reduce at least one of ozone concentrations and volatile organic compound concentrations from airflows directed to passenger cabin air volumes and flight deck air volumes.

A variable chiller exhaust system incorporate a plurality of chillers, each chiller having an inlet receiving air from a crown in an aircraft fuselage and an outlet connected to a manifold. A plurality of check valves are connected to the manifold and configured to maintain a differential back pressure on the plurality of chillers of 2&#x2033; water pressure or less. The check valves vent into the crown. An exhaust conduit is connected to direct air from the manifold to a variable speed fan. An outflow valve exhausts air from the variable speed fan to an exterior of the fuselage.

Example implementations for maintaining airflow into a flight deck of an aircraft are described herein. An example method may involve detecting, at a computing system and using a flow sensor, a decrease in a level of airflow entering into the flight deck such that the level of airflow is below a threshold level. The aircraft may include air sources configured to direct airflow towards occupancy areas (e.g., the cabin and flight deck) of the aircraft. The method may further involve adjusting a control valve to cause an increase in the level of airflow entering into the flight deck based on detecting the decrease in level of airflow entering into the flight deck. The control valve may be configured to enable and disable airflow from entering into the flight deck.
