A root portion of a root-analog dental implant may include a core positioned in an approximate center of the root portion of the dental implant. The core may provide mechanical strength and/or support for the dental implant and may include one or more struts. The root-analog dental implant may further include a porous surface positioned on a portion of a vertically oriented exterior surface of the core. The struts may be configured and arranged to provide mechanical strength and/or support for the root-analog dental implant.

Methods and anchor devices for repairing soft tissue with a suture are provided. An anchor device comprises an elongate body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a first lumen extending from the proximal end, the first lumen having at least one face which is sloped relative to the central axis of the elongate body such that the cross-sectional area of the first lumen decreases in the proximal direction. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes an implant delivery instrument and an implant for use therewith. In one variant, the implant delivery instrument includes a non-detachable distraction member for distraction of the disc space and a track for slidable delivery of an implant to the distracted disc space. In another variant, the implant delivery instrument includes a detachable distraction member for distraction of the disc space and a track for slidable delivery of an implant to the distracted disc space. An orthopedic system for delivery of a therapeutic agent to a bone includes an elongate stem adapted to be inserted into an intramedullary canal, an inlet configured to receive the therapeutic agent, and one or more outlets configured to deliver the therapeutic agent to the bone. The elongate stem may comprise one or more protrusions to engage the bone, and one or more channels extending longitudinally therein, fluidly coupled to the inlet. The therapeutic agent flows from the inlet through the one or more channels and exits into the intramedullary canal through the one or more outlets. The system may be configured to allow one or more dimensions of the system to be adjusted to accommodate the anatomy of a patient.

An exemplary device for excising excess skin (e.g. eyelid skin) and creating wound closure includes a base, a lever mechanism coupled with the base via a lever pivot, a locking mechanism, an elongate curved first jaw member in fixed relationship with the base and having a lower serrated tissue contacting surface, an elongate curved second jaw member in movable relationship with the base and having an upper serrated tissue contacting surface. The upper serrated tissue contacting surface of the second jaw member can face toward the lower serrated tissue contacting surface of the first jaw member. The locking mechanism can be releasably engageable with the second jaw member. The pivoting actuation of the lever mechanism can cause linear movement of the second jaw member relative to the first jaw member.

An expandable member is coupled to the plurality of elongated plates so as to form an enclosed tube that is sized and shaped to receive the interbody implant.
