Disclosed herein are embodiments of a stowable storage net and a vehicle with a stowable storage net. The storage net comprises a storage area having a front, a back and two sides, the front and back being pivotally connected at one end. Elements are included for providing a predetermined amount of longitudinal elasticity to the storage area. The storage net comprises elements for removably attaching the storage area to a desired surface of the cargo area. The storage net further comprises a storage pouch forming the bottom of the storage net, the two sides of the storage net pivotally mounted proximally to the ends of the storage pouch and configured to fold into the storage pouch, allowing the associated net to fall easily and neatly into the pouch. The storage pouch can further comprise a zipper or other type of closure. Methods and vehicles are also disclosed.

Stowable storage net

A barrier device or cargo net positionable between a rear seat of a vehicle passenger compartment and a cargo area of the vehicle. The barrier device can include a window portion and a solid portion. The window portion can be positioned across an open space above the seat and below the headliner of the vehicle. The solid portion can be positionable behind the seat. The body of the barrier device can be formed with a first portion and a second portion, the first portion being thicker or formed of more layers of material than the second portion. The thicker portion of the body of the barrier device can be positioned across the open space or behind the seat back. The barrier device is releasably attachable to the top of the interior of the vehicle and the bottom of the interior of the vehicle. The barrier body can also include means to render the top, bottom, first side or second side taut.

A load restraining barrier for use in a motor vehicle, suspended between the passenger compartment and the trunk compartment. The barrier includes a barrier body having a front, a back, a top, a bottom, and two sides, the front facing the trunk compartment, the back facing the passenger compartment, the top adjacent the package tray, the bottom adjacent the vehicle's bottom wall, and the two sides adjacent the vehicle's two side walls. A substantially horizontal reinforcing member extends between the two sides and is located at or below a midpoint between the top and the bottom. The barrier body is attached to the vehicle's package tray, and is releasably attached to at least one of the bottom wall and the side walls. When the barrier is installed at the trunk forward end, cargo in the trunk compartment is restrained from entering the passenger compartment under predetermined frontal crash conditions.

A tie-down anchor is secured to a threaded stud projecting from a surface inside an auto to provide a point of attachment for a flexible member such as a cord or loop of a cargo restraint net. The anchor has a tubular stem defining an axial through hole for receiving the stud, and a plurality of barbs extending radially inward into the through hole and angled along the axis of the through hole in the direction in which the stud is inserted. The anchor is pushed directly onto the stud, the barbs deflecting radially outward as the stud is inserted into the through hole. The tips of the barbs engage the threads in a ratcheting manner as the stud is inserted into the through hole. The angled barbs effectively prevent withdrawal from the through hole unless the anchor is rotated to unthread it from the stud. The through hole allows the anchor to be produced as a single, integral piece requiring no further assembly before it is installed in connection with a threaded stud. A plurality of axial ridges are formed about the circumference of the through hole and offset from the barbs to define an inside diameter approximately equal to the outside diameter of the stud. The ridges contact the outer surface of the stud along substantially the entire length of the stem to provide a secure and stable engagement between the components.
