A computer-implemented method for controlling content distribution includes forwarding information associated with a user to a device operated by the user, the information being configured for use in selecting content from any of multiple content providers for a content distribution to the user. The method includes receiving, in response to the information, an edit of the information forwarded from the device. The edit identifies a first content provider and including a first modification of the content distribution regarding the first content provider. The method includes storing the edit in association with the information such that the first modification is taken into account in the content distribution. The method can be implemented using a computer program product tangibly embodied in a computer-readable storage medium.

Controlling content distribution

One or more keywords and/or information about one or more properties may be accepted, and a set of one or more taxonomy categories may be determined using at least some of the keyword(s) and/or property information and perhaps term co-occurrence clusters. The determined taxonomy categories may be presented to an advertising user as an ad targeting suggestion. Each taxonomy category may have at least one associated property (e.g., Web document), that participates in an advertising network. An advertiser selection of a suggested taxonomy category may be accepted, and the serving of an ad of the advertiser may be targeted to each property associated with the selected suggested taxonomy category. Alternatively, such properties may be presented to an advertising user as an ad targeting suggestion.

An action corrections system includes an interface and a processor. The interface is configured to receive generic data and proprietary data. The processor is configured to determine a generic data entity; match the generic data entity to a proprietary data entity to form a joined entity; determine a response variable from the proprietary data; determine a need for action corrections in regards to the joined entity based at least in part on the response variable; and determine one or more action corrections in regards to the joined entity.

Methods, computer program products and systems are described for computer implemented online-content management. Multiple online content items authored by multiple authors for online publication are received at one or more first computers. For each online content item, a reputation score is determined for the author corresponding to the online content item. The reputation score is based at least in part on one or more reviews of the online content item provided by one or more reviewers other than the author. An online content item from the multiple online content items is published for display on one or more second computers, which includes displaying an advertisement in conjunction with displaying the online content item. A share of revenue for the author of the online content item for displaying the advertisement is determined based at least in part on the reputation score of the author.

Monetization of online content

A new approach is proposed that contemplates systems and methods to provide harmonious tiling layout for a single heterogeneous data feed with a unique and brief syntax. The approach provides solutions to fit shapes into a container without having any holes by automatically providing the most optimum harmonious layout and tile presentation 'win-out' over time, and a survival of the fittest of visual presentation based on configurable metrics. A single user interface combines the action of searching and publishing as a single process whereby search results are formatted with the intention to facilitate publishing the chosen items.

A system indirectly infers concepts associated with a document. The concepts may be indirectly inferred based on information that does not include characteristics of the document, such as the characteristics that include a textual content of the document not associated with links included in the document, a domain of the document, and the document's Uniform Resource Locator (URL). The system may label the inferred concepts as useful to an audience of the document.

Documents or document sets may be scored to reflect a value of an action, such as a selection for example, when an ad is served with the document (or a document belonging to a document set). A cost associated with the action with respect to an ad that was served with a document may then be adjusted using the score. For example, ad scores may be accepted or determined, and a document may be scored using the ad scores when served with the document and ad scores across a collection of documents to generate a document score. Each of the ad scores may indicate a value of an action with respect to an ad, such as a conversion rate, or a return on investment for an ad selection for example. Document scores used in this way may help advertisers get a more consistent cost per conversion, or return on investment, without requiring them to enter and manage various offers for various documents and/or various ad serving systems having various conversion rates or returns on investment.

Adjusting ad costs using document performance or document collection performance

A computer-implemented method for automatically sharing media between users is provided. A first image is received depicting a scene with one or more persons. Face detection information is identified for each person in the first image. Identification information for each face detected is obtained without user intervention. The face detection information and the identification information are associated with the first image. The first image including the associated face detection information and identification information is sent to a server hosting a media sharing service. An access link to an event group is received. The event group includes an album of the first image and a first collection of images that share a set of common features with the first image.
