A cutout cover includes an arcuate top portion covering an insulator having a closed top and an open bottom with a slit extending therebetween. A midsection can connect the top portion to an open end adapted to access the cutout. The top portion is bell-shaped with an upper and lower dome, two opposing sides, and a slit between the sides. A fastener mechanism is attached to the two opposing sides with an aperture disposed on each of the sides for receiving a fastener.

Hot-stick capable cutout cover

A compliant cap for inserting into an aperture of an electrical connector. The cap includes two halves connected by a living hinge. The two radial members in the two halves each extend perpendicular to the living hinge with the second radial member being longer than the first. One of the halves includes a plurality of chamfers, and the other half includes an outer rim surrounding the chamfers such that when the cap is compressed, the rim envelops the chamfers decreasing the area of the cap. In a second embodiment, chamfers include extensions adjacent to the outer rim for wrapping around or extending over the rim and further enhancing the secure fit of the two halves.

Compliant cap

An interface device for attaching a printhead carrier to a carrier drive belt includes a belt holder attached to the carrier drive belt, and an isolator coupled between the belt holder and the printhead carrier. The isolator is configured to provide directionally dependent filtering of vibrations propagating to the printhead carrier.

Directionally dependent carrier isolator for an imaging apparatus

An electrical connector for clamping securely onto a threaded shaft includes a transformer bar, a connector body, a clamping component, and at least two columns for receiving streetlight taps. The transformer bar has a plurality of conductor bores, a distal end, and a bar top. The connector body is at the distal end and has first and second bosses at the bar top and first and second clamping sides. The clamping component is pivotally mounted by an attachment link to be selectively located adjacent one of the first and second clamping sides. Two columns are located adjacent the distal end of the transformer bar, protruding away from the transformer bar, one on each side, for supporting a streetlight tap and a redundant ground close to the connector body and a streetlight tap opposite the distal end.

Dual size stud electrical connector

An imaging apparatus includes a carrier housing having an attachment feature, a carrier belt to transmit a translation to the carrier housing in a bi-directional scanning direction; and an interface device interposed between and coupled to both the carrier housing and the carrier belt. The interface device includes a body having a wing and a base. The wing is defined by a span and by a chord length. At least one of the wing and the base is mounted via the attachment feature to the carrier housing. The span extends in the bi-directional scanning direction, and the chord length is substantially perpendicular to the span.

Imaging apparatus having a printhead carrier/belt interface device

A printhead carrier includes a body defining a receptacle for receiving a supply cartridge. The body includes a front portion, and a rear portion spaced from the front portion. The rear portion has a latch opening. A cover is provided having a first end configured for pivotal attachment to the front portion of the body. A latch arm has a proximal end attached to the cover. A distal end of the latch arm includes a latch lip. The latch lip engages the latch opening in the rear portion of the body when the cover is in a closed position. A release mechanism is coupled to the rear portion of the body. The release mechanism includes a cam for engaging the latch lip of the latch arm to force the latch lip out of the latch opening when the release mechanism is moved from a latch position to a latch release position.

Release mechanism for facilitating supply cartridge installation and removal

An imaging apparatus includes a printhead carrier configured for movement along an X-axis. The printhead carrier includes a carrier housing having a first bearing pocket and a second bearing pocket. The first bearing pocket and the second bearing pocket are spaced apart along the X-axis. A Z-axis passes through a central region of the carrier housing. The Z-axis is substantially perpendicular to the X-axis. A first bearing is configured to be received in the first bearing pocket. The first bearing includes a first curved outer surface having a curve that extends in a direction of the X-axis. The curved outer surface is received in the first bearing pocket to facilitate a rotation of the first bearing in relation to the Z-axis of the carrier housing. A second bearing is configured to be received in the second bearing pocket.

Self aligning printhead carrier bearings for an imaging apparatus

A printhead capping assembly includes a cap holder and a printhead cap. The cap holder defines a cavity and a vent exit. The printhead cap has a base and a lip portion extending from the base. The lip portion defines an open interior region. The base is inserted into the cavity of the cap holder. The base includes a serpentine channel extending from the open interior region to the vent exit of the cap holder.

Printhead cap assembly for an ink jet printer

A method is provided to reduce vertical banding defects in an ink jet printer. The method includes the steps of identifying a disturbance frequency of a disturbance source; identifying a natural frequency of a printhead carrier system; correlating the disturbance frequency of the disturbance source and the natural frequency of the printhead carrier system to a base carrier velocity; selecting a first carrier velocity for printing in a first direction, the first carrier velocity being different from the base carrier velocity; and selecting a second carrier velocity for printing in a second direction, the second carrier velocity being different from the base carrier velocity and different from the first carrier velocity.

Ink jet printer improved dot placement technique

A manually actuated spring loaded latch mechanism for releasably securing a printhead cartridge in a carrier of an ink jet printer. A latch cover engages the printhead cartridge and is secured by an actuator. Depressing the actuator releases the latch cover, which is spring biased to an open position. Further movement of the actuator lifts the printhead cartridge.
