A method for controlling an operation of an agricultural vehicle comprising: receiving a geo-fencing plan for the agricultural vehicle, determining an allowed area for executing an agricultural action based on the geo-fencing plan, determining a current location of the agricultural vehicle, comparing the current location of the agricultural vehicle to one or more predetermined locations to determine whether the agricultural vehicle is in the allowed area for executing the agricultural action, and in response to determining that the agricultural vehicle is not in the allowed area, executing an action to prevent the agricultural vehicle from executing the agricultural action.

An agricultural vehicle includes a driveline, an interface, and a control system. The driveline includes an engine, a transmission, and a power take off (PTO). The interface is configured to removably couple an implement with the agricultural vehicle. The implement configured to perform an agricultural function. The control system includes processing circuitry configured to obtain an indication of a type of the implement that is removably coupled with the agricultural vehicle. The processing circuitry is also configured to determine a profile for at least the transmission based on the type of the implement that is removably coupled with the agricultural vehicle. The profile defines an operating parameter for at least the transmission such that the transmission operates in a specific manner for the type of the implement. The processing circuitry is also configured to operate at least the transmission according to the operating parameter of the profile.

A method for determining and controlling engine speeds of a work vehicle during gear shifts may include controlling an operation of an engine and/or a transmission of a work vehicle so as to maintain the work vehicle operating at a requested speed, and determining a measured gear ratio for the transmission as a gear shift is occurring from a first gear ratio to a second gear ratio. The method may also include calculating a desired engine speed during the gear shift as a function of the requested speed and either the measured gear ratio or the second gear ratio. In addition, when the measured gear ratio differs from the first gear ratio by a predetermined threshold amount, the method may include controlling the engine speed based on the desired engine speed for a remainder of the gear shift from the first gear ratio to the second gear ratio.

System and method for determining and controlling engine speeds during gear shifting

In one aspect, a system and method allow for various pairs of candidate gear ratios and engine speeds to be identified for achieving a desired ground speed of a work vehicle. The individual operating efficiencies of one or more of the power-consuming components of the work vehicle may then be analyzed for each pair of transmission/engine settings to estimate the associated parasitic power loss(es) within the system. Based on the parasitic power loss value determined for each transmission/engine setting, a net engine power or torque requirement can be calculated and used as an input for determining the fuel efficiency of the work vehicle at each candidate setting. The gear ratio and corresponding engine speed of the candidate setting associated with the lowest fuel consumption may then be set as the target or desired transmission/engine setting for maintaining the work vehicle at the desired ground speed.

System and method for reducing fuel consumption of a work vehicle based on estimated parastic power losses

In one aspect, a system and method allow for various pairs of candidate gear ratios and engine speeds to be identified for achieving a desired ground speed of a work vehicle. The individual operating efficiency of the vehicle's fan and/or alternator may then be analyzed for each pair of transmission/engine settings to estimate the associated parasitic power loss(es) for such component(s). Based on the parasitic power loss(es) determined for each transmission/engine setting, a net engine power or torque requirement can be calculated and used as an input for determining the fuel efficiency of the work vehicle at each candidate setting. The gear ratio and corresponding engine speed of the candidate setting associated with the lowest fuel consumption may then be set as the target or desired transmission/engine setting for maintaining the work vehicle at the desired ground speed.

A speed control system for an agricultural system having an agricultural vehicle includes a control system. The control system instructs an engine to maintain a constant speed, determines a first estimated speed of the agricultural vehicle associated with increasing a gear index of a step ratio transmission, determines a second estimated speed of the agricultural vehicle associated with decreasing the gear index of the step ratio transmission, instructs the step ratio transmission to increase the gear index if the first estimated speed is closer to a target speed than the second estimated speed and a current speed of the agricultural vehicle, and instructs the step ratio transmission to decrease the gear index if the second estimated speed is closer to the target speed than the first estimated speed and the current speed.

A method for controlling engagement of a power take-off (PTO) clutch of a work vehicle may generally include transmitting, by a computing device, a control signal associated with initiating engagement of the PTO clutch, determining a clutch slippage energy generated during engagement of the PTO clutch due to clutch slippage and, while the PTO clutch is getting engaged, calculating a clutch engagement time remaining until engagement of the PTO clutch is completed based on the clutch slippage energy and a maximum clutch engagement energy associated with the PTO clutch. In addition, the method may include determining a torque command for controlling engagement of the PTO clutch as a function of the remaining clutch engagement time and controlling the engagement of the PTO clutch based on the torque command.

System and method for adaptive engagement control of a PTO clutch of a work vehicle

A method for controlling engagement of a power take-off (PTO) clutch may include transmitting a PTO control command for initiating engagement of the PTO clutch, determining that an output speed for the PTO clutch has not increased within a predetermined time period following the transmission of the PTO control command, and determining an average engine pre-load for the work vehicle over a time period occurring prior to transmission of the PTO control command. Moreover, in response to determining that the output speed for the PTO clutch has not increased within the predetermined time period, the method may include transmitting a speed control command associated with increasing a requested engine speed for the work vehicle, determining an adaptive torque command for controlling the engagement of the PTO clutch as a function of the average engine-pre-load, and controlling the engagement of the PTO clutch based on the adaptive torque command.

A method for controlling PTO clutch engagement includes determining a first change in clutch speed based on an inertial load of a PTO implement. The method also includes determining a second change in clutch speed based on a threshold amount of energy of a PTO clutch. The method also includes adjusting a clutch current based on the third change in clutch speed.
