Apparatus and associated methods relate to sensing pressure and mitigating the error introduced by the thermoelectric effect. A pressure sensing device includes a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, and an error correction device. The pressure sensor produces a voltage output proportional to a sensed pressure. The temperature sensor measures a first temperature at a first location and a second temperature at a second location to produce a temperature difference signal. The error correction device modifies the pressure output proportionally to the temperature difference signal to produce a temperature adjusted pressure output which compensates for error introduced from the temperature difference.

Method for thermoelectric effect error correction

A static plate heating arrangement includes a faceplate including a port extending from an exterior surface of the faceplate to an interior surface of the faceplate, a fixed resistance heater in thermal communication with the interior surface and surrounding the port, and a self-regulating heater in thermal communication with the interior surface and surrounding the fixed resistance heater. The fixed resistance heater and the self-regulating heater are electrically connected in series.

Static plate heating arrangement

A thermal management system for a sensor module is disclosed that includes a housing enclosing the sensor module and having a bottom wall with a reception port formed therein, and a thermal isolation puck installed within the reception port formed in the bottom wall of the housing for reducing the rate at which thermal energy from a heater located within an adjacent flush static plate is lost to the housing.

Thermal management system for air data sensor module

A pitot pressure sensing probe assembly is made up of individual components comprising a barrel formed with a longitudinal interior passageway and a conical end cap at its leading end. A strut that has stamped or formed sections secured together to form the strut with a compound curvature includes a neck that has a bore to receive a hub of the barrel. The end cap has a pitot port for sensing fluid pressure. The barrel includes a water trap at its leading end for trapping water and permitting it to drain through a hole in the conical end cap. The longitudinal internal passageyway carries the fluid pressure sensed by the pitot port to remote instruments. The individual components are easily formed and are secured together to make the pitot pressure sensing probe assembly.

Fabricated pitot probe assembly

A semi-flush air data sensing probe is formed as an elongated bubble housing directly supported on an aircraft surface having a generally longitudinally extending rounded outer edge surface with a rounded contoured leading end. The housing has top and bottom wall surfaces extending from the supporting surface to the rounded outer surface. The trailing end of the housing is smaller than the leading end and is contoured to provide for smooth airflow past the housing. A central longitudinally extending plane that bisects the housing and which is perpendicular to the supporting surface, forms a reference. A forwardly facing port is at the leading end and centered on the central plane, and a pair of angle of attack sensing ports are on the leading end and are symmetrically located on opposite sides of the longitudinally extending plane. A static pressure sensing port also is provided on the housing at a position along the rounded outer edge surface and spaced downstream from the leading end.
